  • NAUSEA with induction?

I was reading about some folks' exhaustion and have experienced it, too. But the biggest piece of concern for me right now is a semi-constant feeling of nauseau. I eat slowly and stop if I'm full without 'cleaning my plate' just b/c there's still food on it. But I'm ending up feeling gross so much of the time... This morning I sauteed some mushrooms and had a hamburger patty and some creamed cauliflower with it. I was full when the burger and mushrooms were about half gone and I was mostly done with the cauliflower and stopped eating as soon as I felt that way.

But I've still felt nauseous since I got done. What gives?! This isn't the first time I've felt like this and it's not nearly as bad as when I've had morning sickness with pregnancy. But it's certainly not pleasant, either.

    Ideas?!

Hang in there. You're body's going through withdrawls and trying to use up the stored glucose in your body. If you've been eating a lot of high carbed foods for a long time, chances are you'll have it pretty rough. On the bright side...keep drinking water because this too shall pass.

    best wishes!

Thanks. We just got back from vacation in Vegas and I started slipping some toward the end (which is why I'm restarting induction). Today's day 2 back on.

Is this what I've seen called 'induction flu'?

I get nausea the first few days of induction. It does go away. It's just har not to reach for a cracker to settle my stomach. Try drinking a little seltzer water. Sip, don't gulp. It will get better.

I know all about that icky sick feeling.
The last time I did atkins, i slowly figured out that I eating small meals every 4 hours or so kept me from feeling that way. Also eating something protein-y or fatty for breakfast helps me too.

It's still not entirely gone but getting better now. This is a GREAT incentive to stay on track and not have to go through mirroring morning sickness again...

I had nausea and awful headaches when I started, that made me really want to quit... I just ate more smaller meals and drank a lot of water... it's the induction flu, and it will go away... so just hang there strong... after that everything turns great

This is SharoninSpringHill. This is my day 5 and I have lost 3 pounds, but I am extremely tired and drained. I joined a gym and did 20 minutes on the treadmill yesterday and 10 minutes on the bike. I love the eliptical machines but I can only last for three minutes because it feels like the fire dept will come to put out the burning in my thighs!!! I am extremely tired and not real hungry - I have not had any veggies yet and I see that you should so I am going to have some fresh tomatoe and cuke salad w/olive oil and vinegar with my steak tonight.

I am also taking ALL the vitamins-Atkins Basic3, Essential Oils, Dieter's Advantage, 50mg CoenymeQ10, Cortislim.
Can anyone tell me why I am soooo tired?

                Thank you all, Sharon

This is my second time doing Atkins. Last time was 5 years ago and I went from 205 to 147 in about nine months. I don't remember feeling so tired last time.

It isn't unusual to become lethargic and even a bit nauseous in during the third or fourth day of Atkins. Personally, it didn't happen to me, but it can happen. Your body is going through a form of "withdrawal" from refined sugar products and other high carbs. Drink extra water and you'll feel better in a day or so. When you feel better, you may even notice a sudden burst of energy!

When you are alone in your head, you are in a bad neighborhood.
