  • Day 13 And I'm Not Hungry!!

    HELLO OUT THERE, I'VE JUST HIT DAY 13 AND I'VE LOST 2 MORE POUNDS. I SAID THAT I WAS'NT GOING TO WEIGH MYSELF UNTIL DAY 15, BUT THAT WENT OUT OF THE WINDOW AS I EYED THE SCALE WHEN I JUMPED OUT OF THE SHOWER LAST NIGHT. ANYWAY I'M AT THIS POINT WERE I FORGET TO EAT SOMETHING BECAUSE I'M NOT VERY HUNGRY. THEN WHEN I DO EAT SOMETHING I'M FULL QUICKLY AND CAN'T FINISH IT. WHATS UP WITH THAT? I'M STILL DRINKING MY WATER AND DOING HOUSEWORK AS EXERCISE. YOU KNOW UPSTAIRS, DOWNSTAIRS, BEND TO PICK THIS UP, BEND TO PICK THAT UP. IT'S ALL QUITE TIRING BUT VERY EFFECTIVE.

    I don't think it is uncommon to feel the energy rush when we adopt Atkins as our nutritional approach. The bad carbs we consumed are very powerful and had a hold on us for a very long time.

    Atkins is written not just as a diet, but a nutritional approach. There is a reason why he included a variety of food we could eat and suggested whole foods including our protein, fresh produce and our healthy fats. Make sure you are eating a variety of foods to eat a healthy program. While many say they aren't hungry, skipping meals and taking shortcuts is never a good idea. Part of the beauty of Atkins is that we learn how to eat for a lifetime in a healthy way.

      Irishirish is right!

      When you dont feel hungry you do need to make sure that what you ARE eating is doing you good.

      So make sure your food is as nutritious as possible and always have some fat/protein /carbs at each meal or snack to keep your intake balanced - dont just eat a packet of porkrinds for example and not be able to eat your vegies because you are full up!!
