I am feeling a little discouraged today..It's day 5 of my induction and I have not lost 1 pound. I have not cheated and I'm definately staying under 20 carbs a day so how could this be? Any suggestions would be helpful.

Post your menus on the menu forums to see if someone might could help you there. Sometimes we think we are eating right and there may be a little thing we are doing wrong that is holding us back.

Your body may just be taking longer to adjust to your new way of eating. Give it time don't give up.

Everybody's metabolism rate is different. Drinking a LOT of water DEFINETILY speeds it up.

Just go through induction, DON'T GIVE UP!!!!
anythingh you may lose is weight, and weight ONLY.

Dr. Atkins says don't weigh for the first 14 days. Write down your menu's. Measure your veggies. Make sure you are doing hte diet by the book.

Are you eating enough veggies? Staying under 20 carbs per day is right, but how under 20 are you staying?

Also, are you making sure to track every single carb? Its so easy for the carbs to add up in little things. Some stallers are cheese, products containing aspartame and caffiene.

I agree that you should post a menu and see what types of responses you get.

There have been some members that didn't lose weight in the first two weeks, but started losing in the third.

Good luck and don't give up!!

              Re: Feeling discouraged

Try not to weigh so often - wait till the 14 days are up.

We dont lose weight in a straight line but sometimes none then other times a pound or so and sometimes adding a pound too, so unless you are able to view the fluctuations as merely a scientific curiosity dont set yourself up for failure or disappointment!

Have you read the sticky 'weightloss is not linear? It might be helpful.
