  • Tried and Liked!

I finally decided to try the mock danish last night and it was

better than I expected. At first I thought it would be too eggy as
i didn't have flaxmeal to put in it- but it wasn't bad. I could have sat
and eaten the whole bowl of "frosting". I also tried the stuffed
jalapenos wrapped in bacon- those were to die for- I would eat those
whether I was on Atkins or not. So just an update- I am on day 8 and so far
so good- I did have 1 beer over the weekend and immediately regretted
it-I haven't been the best at working out- it's been so hot here
and i don't have air cond- but now that it's cooler I will commit to
at least 30 min on treadmill everyday. I'm not weighing until day 14
because I know a scale can be a jerk when it wants to. I will
definitely update on day 14 to let everyone who has helped on this
    journey know how I did.

Do you have a Journal, Helen? It might be a good idea for you to start on if you haven't.

I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

On the really hot days, if you live near a shopping mall, you can exercise by walking around and by taking the stairs to each level rather than the escalator. The mall is indoor and air conditioned.

Forgot to add...if you do try Mall Walking, be sure to leave your credit card at home, otherwise, you might be shopping more than walking. lol.

But on a flip side to what Megs (not2late) said there - if you do some shopping whilst you are out walking, be sure to buy lots of heavy items and then you can carry them home with you, thus being a work out for your arms

You're right Not2Late- I shouldn't use the heat as an excuse

it's too easy to do that when it comes to exercise. Good
idea on the credit card- otherwise the only thing I'll be working
            out is my bank account.

              Richt,

That's why the nice people in the store will hold items until you bring your car around for them to put in the trunk. Wait 'till you arrive home, call either a. boyfriend, b. cute next door neighbor, c. ex-boyfriend, or d. old married guy next door (it helps that you're cute and live alone sometimes) to carry said item into house. If using either c or d options, ensure there are no cold drinks available at home, if using a or b option, make sure you have something "more comfortable" to change into after your "stressful" shopping experience since the sales people were so rude, and perhaps they could help you "relax" a little.

During my lunch break I ran across the street to the supermarket a bought a box of feminine hygiene product. Anyhow, the clerk handed be the bag and asked if I needed help carrying it to my car!!!!

Granted it is a service and I bet they have to ask every customer if they need help with the bags no matter how large or how small the purchase is but I'm sure the clerk felt silly asking me that.

One of these days when I'm in a silly mood, I should say "Yeah, I want that cute guy to carry it for me."

Ok, my turn. When I was 17, I went into a convenience store to buy tampons. The cashier, a young good looking guy, looks at me and says "Enough said, eh?" I sorta got mad at him because I thought he was referring to the tampons. Then I realized, he was looking in the mirror behind me at the back of my t-shirt that said "Seniors, class of 95" on the front and "Enough Said!" on the back of the shirt. I nearly ripped his head off.

And back to our regularly scheduled program...

Exercise is good, and so are the Mock Danish and the bacon wrapped jalepenos.

                      train 2 kids to:
***load and unload groceries out of buggy
***unload bags of groceries out of car
                      ***put groceries away.

                        Re: Tried and Liked!

My son's 3, so he can't really reach anything in the trunk of the car. I end up taking everything out of the trunk, putting it on front porch, then taking everything from porch to kitchen (so the door can stay closed while I'm running back and forth and he doesn't escape). He does help me take things from the porch to the kitchen though... which I guess is a good thing, I think he was the one who dropped the carton of eggs on the kitchen floor though, sooooooo... "enough said".
