  • I'm stuck - why

    I have lost 11 lbs since July 1st which I am thankful for. I did slip and got back on but I can not get past the 200 mark. I started out at 220 and now I am 209 and I am not budging. I have not cheated in the last 2 weeks and my ketosis strips are not turning purple. My sample meal is below:
    2 eggs and bacon
    salad with tuna or chicken
    meat and a green vegetable
    sometimes I get the munchies and I will have an Atkins breakfast bar at night before 6:00 p.m.
    I drink plenty of water.

    What is the deal?

    Hi mjlanham2,

    Good for you on the 11 pound loss, that's great!!

    Many people have plateaus in their weight loss, especially after Induction. But, I do have a couple of suggestions for you. Even though the package says Atkins and the Atkins website says they're okay...avoid all of the prepacked processed foods, namely the Atkins bar. You'll do yourself a bigger favor by kicking that sugar monster craving to the ground, just don't feed it...the cravings will go away!

    The other suggestion is to use fitday.com and enter all of your food, every bite...then report that in the Review My Menu forum.

      Yep, avoid the bars. Stick with fresh meats and produce (or frozen) without additives and you'll be much better off. Oh, and plain water.

        You also might want to check out your bacon... Is it cured in sugar? And are you using any salad dressings, etc? If so make sure you check the labels!! As the other's said, nix the bars and make sure you get enough veggies!

        Was, Am, Will be: 280/222/175ish.
        Started Dec 2005 and lost 105 lbs by mid 2006, maintained loss for the most part until 2009...then really let go & gained some back... lol

        (Induction= only 6lbs but lost 10 inches! yay)
