Well here is the question today is my 3rd day and i have few questions and hope someoe can help me soon!!! well not sure if iam getting enough carbs day one i ate eggs and bacon for breakfast so 0 carbs then snack i had few bites of stake so 0 carbs then for lunch i had 1 cup of green salad with ita dress so 2 carbs for dressing how many carbs are in green salad if any?????then i have stake for lunch as well so i olny had 2 grams of carbs for lunch then i had to sauage pattys for dinner which where 6 carbs and green salad with cucumbers with no carbs dress and i had a few pices of cheese and peporoni so no carbs there so i had so by my count i had 8 carbs is that enought what else should i do so iam eating more carbs or is that enough and should ibe counting my salad and cucks too????? please help me soon its 9:15 here and i need to know before lunch so i know what to eat!!! thanks liza i know this is the same thing i posted on other board but i need some help with this thank u

Hi Liza,
Go to www.fitday.com and register an account there, it's free. Then plug in everything you have eaten, and the amounts. I think you will be suprised how many carbs you have actually been eating. I wouldn't go lower then 10-15 at the least, and you should be getting that easy if you are eating the veggies you are supposed to (one cup veggies, two cups salad veggies).
Also there are carbs in green salad, according to fitday roughly one carb per cup. Also the eggs, each one is a carb. There is no such thing as a carb free food for the most part, everything has a little tiny bit, and it adds up.

I agree, go to fitday.com... And as Maerow said, you'd be surprised by the amount of carbs you're actually eating. The cheese, eggs, sausage and peperoni...
And don't forget to eat your viggies.. You really do need them at every meal. Don't be afraid of carbs - the good ones are ok! (under 20 of course
)

All the question you have are answered in it. The food you have listed all have carbs!
One site that I like (as a quick reminder during those first couple of days after starting) is "The Rules of Induction" on the Atkins webpage:

For example, I don't follow the 2 cups salad-1 cup veggie rule of the book, but the rule from the link provided: "eat no more than 20 grams a day of carbohydrate, at least 12-15 grams of which must come in the form of salad green and other vegetables." (please note that not all vegetables are allowed during induction!)
The Atkins site also has a carb counter, which surpasses the one in DANDR.
One thing the "Rules of Induction" doesn't mention is that you're not allowed to eat more than 3-4 oz. of cheese per day. Your cream (whipping, heavy, sour, etc) intake is limited to 2-3 tablespoons.
I think it's important that you get all the info ASAP, as you could set yourself up for failure and/or self-sabotage by being confused about so many aspects of Atkins. Plus, you're probably not getting all the nutrition that you need.My decreasing dress size shall be the main measurement of my success.

If I follow your original question correctly, yes you should count all the carbs you eat in a day, including your vegetables. The only carbs I do not count are fiber carbs as they are indigestable. So if you ate 25g of total carbs (amongst meat,cheese,vegetables) and 5g of fiber, your net carbs for the day would be 20.what else should i do so iam eating more carbs or is that enough and should ibe counting my salad and cucks too?????
As to the second part of the question are you eating enough carbs? Lettuce is not the only salad vegetable, and there are certainly lots of other ways to get your vegetable intake for the day that have higher carb counts than 1-2g per cup lettuce has. You don't always have to be at 20g per day, but a diet of only lettuce as your vegetable would likely get boring and lack nutrition as well.Kent - 35-M-6'4"
