  • REadin the Labels

Hi yall!! i read somewhere on here about reading the labels while shopping , and i don't recall where. If sugar is listed at the top prtion on the label, leave it on the shelve, if its listed in the ingredient, you probally ok, but i do know to stay away even if it list corn syrup, highly frutose syrup. i just don't want to mess up this time around.

It all depends. (I know those answers are so frustrating) For some people who are really sensitive even just being in the ingredients is enough to stimulate cravings even if there are 0g of sugars per serving. You have to know how sensitive you are to the stuff. Remember, it isn't just fructose or sucrose to watch out for on the labels, but it is all the other -ose with the exception of sucralose (Splenda).

One of thing to be aware of all sugars listed on the upper labels are not created equally either. A can of diced tomatoes might have 3 to 5g of sugars listed, but those are possibly naturally occuring sugars in the tomatoes (as opposed to nasty ones that are added).

you are upside down if it has sugar in the ingredients Not2late has posted in the induction forums an entire list of sweeteners used as sugar in foods avcoid it like the plague! if anything in the ingredients isn't on the acceptable list don't get it.
sugar in the nutrtional lable can be as kent said naturally occurring. carbs are looked at there not sugar.

I agree somewhat. There are certain products, like Hellmann's Mayo and Kraft 1g or less Salad Dressings, which may have sugar listed on their ingredients, but the amounts are nominal. Obviously watching for cravings even for these minute amounts is critical.
