    Re: Induction and fasting

You only want to lost about 35 pounds all together. With your weight being what it is, losing it all in one month isn't likely and is not healthy, even if it was possible.

Read the book... please. It gives all the information you are going to need to do Atkins safely.

The cheese is limited to 3-4 ounces a day and mayonnaise is within reason. I don't think there's an actual limit on it.

Is there anyway you can schedule your diet around the fast?

Part of Atkins is keeping your blood sugar levels stable. That's done by giving it a steady supply of food during waking hours. For most religious fasts, you can't eat between sunrise and sunset or about 12 hours.

I won't ever tell anyone to disregard their religious customs for this diet, but you might want to see if you can tailor the diet around that schedule.

Also, I checked your weight and height on a BMI calculator
      Height 5'5
      SW:145Ibs
      CW:145Ibs
      GW:105Ibs
For your current weight, your BMI is 24, which is in the "normal" BMI range for your height. You might want to reconsider your weight goal of 105 pounds because that will result in a BMI of 17 which is in the underweight range.

yes you can partake of your spiritual cememonial fasts. there is no point artriving at weight goal if you do so spiritually malnurished take communion if you are a christian, partake of the sedarmeal if you are Jewish, the istifar (SP?) if you are islamic, the cakes and muir if you are wiccan or whatever your religion calls for, Make it a part of your Atkins. know you may be out of ketosis for a day or too but this too will pass.

Remember that cheese and mayo (some types) have carbs you must count.

As for the fast, sure you can, but eat before and right after, and be sure and drink your water.

Is the fast a modified fast such as no solid food, limited-time such as dawn to dusk, or is it 48 hours of strict abstinence from all nutrition?
