  • Done with induction...a little disappointed

Today was my last day of 2-week induction. Only lost 5 lbs! I say only because my first attempt with induction a few months ago, I lost 10lbs in the 1st week alone...I was so exited! Now to see only 5 lbs in 2 weeks is disappointing but better than nothing at all. I will extend my induction and see what happens.
There were some things that I ate more of this time around that the last time such as sour cream and avacado, and I did not take in as much water as I had planned to, so I wonder if that may have resulted in such a small loss.
We'll see in 2 more weeks.

I feel for ya ~ hang in there! This is my second (or more!) time around too and i definitely am losing slower this time. I lost 8 pounds on my 2 week induction, and now i am trying for an extended induction for a little while longer. It'll happen for us! Keep up the good work...

Keep on keepin' on! Someone in the message board (can't remember at the moment, sorry...) has a tag line that says: "A year from now you'll wish you had started today." Every time I am a little bit disappointed (and I'm VERY metabolically resistant so that happens a LOT!), I tell myself. I'm better today than I was yesterday - and a year from now I'll be WOW!

You've done great so far. Drink LOTS of water to whooshhhh that fat out of your system and take your measurements and pictures! The scale alone is not a good measure of progress.

I'm hanging in there with you! Day 23 for me. 8 pounds down. But 23.5 centimeters off! You've started - that's the hard part.

Can't wait to hear your next 2 weeks!

        Good morning!

There is a forum here that is called "Review My Menu" and the veterans can look over what you're eating and tell you if something is stalling your weight loss. You can find it here: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=50

I'm glad you're here and on the Atkins program!

        Best wishes on your journey!!

Don't get frustrated. There are people here that will help if you post your menus. Also consider moving up to the veggie rung of OWL. The last time I did Atkins I stayed on induction too long and that is why I ending up cheating my way off the program.

Dont forget that often you lose inches with out losing lbs. I went from size 8 to 6 without the scale changing. Become friends with your measuring tape and currently snug clothes, they are a much better indicator of actual loss.
What is it, a RACE? It's coming off, right????

Re: Done with induction...a little disappointed

Thanks for the encouragement. I am not quiting. Still disappointed, but less so than when I originally posted this. My motivation comes from the things that did change, such as I am not STARVING like I usually am and I can make it to the next meal without craving dangerous carbs and snacks.....and of course YOU GUYS!!! Thanks again for all of your support!!
Water is a big thing for me....I just dont like it! What I do take in I have to force down!!! As far as my daily menu, I usually stick to the same basic things (and the same things as the last time I tried induction), so I am pretty sure the stall isn't due to choosing foods not friendly to induction. I think I over did it with the sour cream and avacado.
                Well see.........
