  • cheating question

    Hi,
I am on day 16 today of Atkins! I was wondering...I really want to find one of those "cheat free" logos that people are putting on their profile, but I have a question. On Sunday, I had a few drinks. Diet Coke and Barcardi. Was that cheating? I felt like it was since I am doing the strict induction, but technically....
    Any advice?

    Re: cheating question

Technically you have cheated, if something doesnt appear on the "induction food" list, then its a cheat. But don't beat yourself up about it, just learn from it and move on.

It will help make you stronger in the long run.

It never ceases to amaze me of how easy and how effective this ***diet*** is!!

I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

We can't change whats already done - we can only plan ahead for the future. Writing down your reasons for wanting this to work helps. If you make a list and go over it daily, it will reaffirm your committment to yourself and help you stay strong. Only you can make it happen. The good news is we are all here to help you! You don't have to do this alone. I have several plans. (1) when I go out to barbecues (2) when I am invited to family dinners (3) vacations (4) with my husband in the truck (he's a truck driver) (5) birthday or other parties

Rich is right....if it isn't on the list, it isn't doing Atkins correctly. Type out the acceptable list and keep it with you. Before consuming anything, check the list. Find substitutes in the recipe section of the ADBB - plan your meals, routines and anything else that might cause you to divert from your plan to get healthy and lose the weight.

You can do this. You are worth the effort. Best wishes.

Even if you split hairs it was cheating. Alcohol isn't allowed on induction, which lasts a minimum of 2 weeks. So Sunday, you were on day 14, and therefore cannot justify it as some form of OWL rung-skipping. So, no logo for you this time,
but just keep swimming.... The alcohol may slow your looses down, but you probably are still in ketosis, which is a primary objective of induction.
