Can you list the ingredients, and also the numbers quoted on the nutritional panel bit?

          Re: Bacon

          Hey Joy,

Honestly, I don't sweat bacon or sausage on the brand. Most bacon is cured with sugar and it's going to be on the ingredient list. I, personally, don't eat more than 2 perhaps 3 strips of bacon at any given time and mostly use the bacon as seasoning for my vegetables. So, I look for bacon and sausage whose carbohydrate count is 0-2 carbs per serving and just go with it. It hasn't given me any trouble, but you might be different. Try and see how it goes. As for sausage and bacon both, you want to avoid the MAPLE FLAVORED and SYRUP flavored stuff--they add extra sugar besides what is used to cure the bacon.

          Hope this helps.

Turkey bacon seems to have more sweeteners. I always look for low sodium low nitrate low carb bacon and buy what's cheapest

                    Re: Bacon

If you have a Krogers market, they have a sugar free bacon that's very good. I think maybe Plumrose makes one too.

                        Did someone say,
                        BACON in here???

I buy whatever brand at the time gives me the most for my money, so long as it's pork and I see some meat in it. As for the sugar on the label, that is there because it is one of the curing ingredients, and very little of it soaks in so 1 slice gets labelled as 0 carbs. But because of it obviously having at least part of 1g carb per serving, I count carbs generally as 1-3g depending on how much I eat. You can enter slice sizes, quantities and bacon types in www.fitday.com (free registration) to get an official carb count.
