    Re: Prepare yourself

Not everyone loses large amounts of weight on induction.
Betty one of our former admins lost absolutely nothing on induction but continued to follow the plan, moved to OWL and got to goal where she has been maintaining for a while now.

It looks as if you have a high metabolic resistance to weightloss according to the chart in DANDR, so you might well benefit from staying on induction for a while longer as Dr Atkins suggests in Chapter 13, to give your body longer to balance itself.

Is the exercise a 'new to you' occurrence? If so your body might be holding on to water to help it cope with what it percieves as a threat to your life (after all - who exerts themself that much on purpose?!?) and when it realises that exercise is going to be the 'norm' for you will release this water and show a scales loss for you.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

I know I'll probably get flamed for this response, but you may (and I stress "may") be drinking too much water. Not that it's bad for you, because it's GREAT for you... but I found that if I drink too much water, the scales do not move. I was drinking a minimum of 130 oz per day, and I found that it was too much for me. I lowered it to ~96 ounces and do much much better.

Keep in mind that others have had the opposite response to water intake. This is just my personal experience.

Are you drinking anything besides water? Anything caffeinated?

I think the entire induction, i had two diet pepsi's. If that counts...

              Re: Prepare yourself

Try changing up your menu, too. Don't get bored. Even if you have a ground beef patty or chicken or some more fiber like broccoli or cauliflower. Living on so many eggs, may get to you after a while. Some are fine, no question, but Atkins is a way to learn how to eat by learning new habits. Depending on the time during the month that you started Atkins, you may have been retaining fluid from TOM.

                Re: Prepare yourself

I just noticed you are eating a fair amount of bacon, which is one food that can contain a lot of salt (sodium). Many people find that this makes them retain water which of course weighs about a pound a pint!

Do you feel better? Do your clothes fit better? Sometimes the scale is not the most acccurate picture of whether this WOE is "working".
What is it, a RACE? It's coming off, right????
