  • Is there anything sweet?

I am new to atkins. I read the book and i know eating high fat foods along with my veggies and water are imp. I was wondering if there is anything sweet that anyone knows of that is ok on induction. Right now i am eating a lot of bacon and eggs plus salads. But every now and then I want something sweet!
    Thanks for the help.

    Re: Is there anything sweet?

Some people make what we call a 'mock Danish' (which to me neither looks or tastes like a danish pastry but is a nice treat) The recipe for it is here in the 14 day induction sticky threads called 'induction recipe basics' along with other useful recipes http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...ead.php?t=6807

Remember Dr Atkins thought of desserts as an occasional occurrence, not a daily necessecity (sp?)
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

If you're a chocolate lover, take an ounce of cream cheese, packet of splenda and a little cocoa powder and mix it well. Put it in the fridge until firm and it's like a little piece of fudge. Be sure to count the cheese and sweetener in your daily allowances. And don't do it often.. these things are addicting!

Or you might consider not indulging in sweet flavors since they can often trigger wanting more sweet flavors. Try two weeks without. If you get a craving, eat a piece of cheese or pepperoni and have some water. Indulging in the sweets can sometimes lead to more carbs and since you are doing so well, stick with it for a while.
