    After having a bad morning can you start your first day of atkins induction in the aftroon or should you start fresh the next day?

    Don't think of it as starting over, just pick up from where you veered off. If you made a less than stellar food decision earlier in the day, resume eating healthy right now.

      The time it takes for your body to get into ketosis is determined by the amount of carbs still available to your body for fuel. It should have about a day's worth of stored carbs beyond those actively circulating and in your digestive system, so from the time you cut out the carbs, save the 20 g per day you should eat during induction so your body won't think it's being starved but will still end up in ketosis, it will take 2-4 days based on your metabolism, exercise and carb intake for your body to make the transition. It doesn't matter what time of day you start.

      but regained ~20# in '07 in less than 3 weeks! And again early '08 ...Was in HEAVEN -got to 150, for awhile, then got too busy, and gave in too much... and... OK holding pattern "keep it together..."

        the very next bite should be Atkins low carb and back on your way! Never put off till tomorrow what you can do today with your healthy Atkins eating and exercise.

          I think 2 Big's advice is the very best I've ever heard...everytime I'm messed up royally and kept stuffing in the carbs its because I thought oh well there goes the whole day, week, month etc..If you start with the very next bite you can't go wrong

            Exactly. Don't make the decision of "oh well, I already messed up today". Get right back to healthy.
