  • Need advice

    Well, I'm not real happy with myself right now . I started off really well, lost 13 lbs in 3 weeks, then last week I had to go out of town a few days. I ate some things I shouldn't have and last night my husband brought home pizza and I ate a few slices of that too...I weighed myself this morning and to no suprise I've gained back some. I don't know what's wrong with me..Its like I have no willpower and I cant' say no..I want to lose this weight soooo bad but I keep failing...Today I'm starting over fresh...I know I'm the only one to blame, can't really blame my husband even though he's totally not supportive and he consistently brings food home that I can't eat...Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated..

    Unfortunately, it happens where are are strayed away the things we know are right for us. The best thing to do is get right back on it, put in a little more exercise and keep up your water intake. As far as the pizza, I find I am quite content with just eating the cheese, sauce and toppings off of 3 slices of pizza. Try that and you may find pizza not quite so tempting the next time around.       Pick yourself up and make sure your next meal is an Atkins one.

      The other important thing to do is try to think why you fell off the plan. Was it because you didn't have any legal food? Was it because you had some kind of stress (husband, family, inconsiderate guy in the red SUV who almost side-swiped you on that two-lane road and then honked the horn at you like you were the one driving crazy)?

      Try to think what triggered you then think of ways to deal with that trigger.

        you need to do to things right now. the first is define why you want to lose weight. saying I want to lose weight it a very broad catagory. if you have a soecific reason to do so like your health your joints wanted to avoid diabetes or whatever then you can focus on that and talk to yourself when ever you think you might want to cheat. Like say you want to lose weight to ber heart healthy. then when that pizza walks in you can ask yourself do i really want to eat that disposable palte that legal pizza toppings and cheese is served on more then I want to avoid a heart attack and dying??


        second have a talk with hubby like Dr Atkins says. DO a Dr Phil on him. tell him why you want to lose weight use words he can understand like so I can be healthy and grow old doing the things we love to do BUT when you bring home foods I'm not supposed to have I'm not strong enough right now to refrain from consuming them and that makes me hate myself. I need for you to be the strong one for me by not bringing those foods I can't refrain from into our house right now. I need you to not take me to places when those foods will be served until I grow stronger in my ability to control my foos inpluses.
        (covered 2 for one there for you) I need you to be my biggest supporter and cheer leader. I need you to be strong when I'm not and help me stay on this plan of health low glycemic index eating. Please read the this book DR ATKINS NEW DIET REVOLUTION ( known as DANDR around here) or at least chapter 11 right now and chapter 14 for what I will be able to eat in a few weeks time so you know when I can add back foods you want to have in the housae too that right now I'm not strong enopugh to resist. (you better tell him you don't want low carb alternatives or on OWL rung 2 he will be showing up with low carb icecream for you and high carb for him)

        Then you can use our recipe section topics like Bikergoddess Pizza to make very egal pizza to share with him.
