  • How much Exercise?

    New to this site as well, and a question that i would like some answers to is: How much Exercise should one do on the Atkins induction and afterwards stage?
    I go to Curves 4-5 mornings a week and walk 4.5km 3-4 times weekly.

    Should i add more to my schedule? Can one lose and not exercise at all while on Atkins?

    I would like to find a healthy balance between eating/ exercise and not obsess about either like i have done so many times in the past.

    Firstly, may I welcome you to the wonderful world of ADBB, you wont be dissapointed.

    2nd) The excercise you are doing at the moment is ample

    3rd) You can lose and not excericse on Atkins, but it will be harder. Excercising really helps you to melt away.

    But seriously, 5 sessions of curves and all that walking is plenty, you are going to rock on this diet.

    I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

      Yes, try not to skip the excersize. Not only will you lose weight faster, but when you lose weight your skin & body will be much firmer. Losing weight by diet alone tends to leave your skin kind of saggy, especially in the chest & stomach area. So, try to work out at least 3 times a week, 5 times is optimum. You're doing great!!!

        You are so right, Profitweb!

        Someone on this board has a quote in their sig that fits here (cant remember who)
        Atkins makes you look good but Atkins plus exercise makes you look good naked

        F/60 yrs/5ft 5.5" (Though due to collapsing vertebrae I am now only 5'3" - but I refuse to recalculate my BMI )
