  • Starbucks iced tea

I just started the diet after a long 6 year sabbatical. I was about to go to starbucks and get a black iced tea, but I decided against it thkinking I better check the carbs. It doesn't taste like it has sugar in it, it's quite strong and bitter, but it turns out a Venti has 31g of carbs. Whoa! Glad I didn't get it.

Good job checking it out before just getting it!! I'm glad I never got their tea, I would totally think tea to be safe. I guess nothing is sacred anymore.

I don't even trust myself to go in Starbucks for anything. I would come out with a blackberry green tea frappuchino.

I got a Venti Passion Tea from Starbucks yesterday, not iced though. The woman asked me if I wanted it sweetened or not, and I told her no. I think that the nutrition for Iced Teas that is on their website is formed under the assumption that you have your iced tea sweetened. I went on the website just now, adn the description says that Passion Tea is "lightly sweetened", but I asked a woman at my local Starbucks, and she said that without sweetener, it's just like regular tea, totally carbless. If you ask that they not sweeten it, you should be fine.

              Re: Starbucks iced tea

The passion and green tea I believe are caffeine free, but again, I'm not going to risk it on the carb issue. I can make decaff iced tea myself with my iced tea maker that I know is carb free.

As a side note, I have not been eating three meals a day. I work nights and so I don't eat during the "day" because I am sleeping. When I do wake up, I'm not that hungry so I don't eat. So, I usually eat around 10PM and 4AM, and that's it. As long as I stick to the diet, that won't hurt anything, right?

try having a small high fat/protein snack with some of your veggie carbs when you get up as believe it or not eating increases your metabolism. remember the 6 hr rule too about needed to not go more then 6 waking hrs wothout eating.

                Happy low carbing

                  Re: Starbucks iced tea

I talked with Starbucks over their 800# and they told me all of their iced teas are carb-free. The carb count they show on their website for their iced teas is assuming you add the sugar syrup to the drink.
