I have just had some pictures back from a party on Friday and I am HUGE. I am so much bigger than I thought I was and I feel disgusting. Something HAS to be done now, I am ashamed of myself x

Sometimes we all need that kick up the **** to get ourselves moving in the right direction. Sorry you feel the size of a whale, but atleast you have lots of incentive to make Atkins work for you.

Is that you in the picture? You don't look like a whale - sorry you feel like one. You are a very pretty lady.
Isn't it amazing how differently we "see" ourselves from the reality. Don't worry with Atkins on your side you will reach goal and be seeing yourself in the mirror as healthy and happy!

Okay hunny if that is you in the pic, slow down because if you are a whale than I am the freaking mammoth...lol! You look no where near like a whale! Take it easy on yourself. But, take your dissapointment and use it just like Ritch said. Use it to get on Atkins and kick that weight in the a@@ or should I say off the a@@!

We are our worst critics, aren't we? You're not a whale...unless you have a dorsal fin, blow hole, and can dive down below 1,000 feet to feed for fish. You are beautifully and wonderfully made, with a goal to take care of you. Hang in there!

Re: Oh my lord, I am the size of a WHALE!
First, you look nothing like a whale - you look like a very warm, loving, caring person. Maybe one who has put everyone else first and forgot about herself? Don't beat yourself up. The mirror only shows you the outside, it doesn't show you the inside, which is the most important part of a person.
Second, you have taken the first steps to your weight loss success. You've realized that you want to change your life and you joined ADBB and asked for help.
Some additional induction tips:
1. Read DANDR from cover to cover, it's your new bible.
2. Drink all your water, every day.
3. If it's not on the approved list - Don't eat it! If you're not sure of something post it on ADBB and you'll get a ton of help.
4. Set daily goals for yourself (it's easier to set small goals and you'll feel great when you achieve them)
5. Get on your scales for your starting weight and then throw them in the closet (greatest advice I've received from ADBB)
6. Take your starting measurements as you can be loosing inches and not pounds
7. Clean out your cupboards - throw away all the items that are not induction approved so there's no temptation.
8. Find something that is your motivation (picture of your family, picture of yourself slimmer, picture of an outfit that you want to wear) and post it all over the place
9. Reward yourself once in awhile (not with food) maybe after 20 lbs you get a trip to the salon for some pampering or a new outfit, etc. this gives you something to shoot for.
10. Get up and move, move, move. It'll help your weight loss, give you energy and get you away from the fridge. It also helps keep everything from sagging after weightloss.
I wish you all the best!

Re: Oh my lord, I am the size of a WHALE!
Thanks so much guys.
You are right, we are totally our own worst critics. I know in the grand scheme of things I am NOT a whale but it's how I feel at the moment.
I DID have the book however I need refreshing so I am buying it again tomorrow and reading it from cover to cover. Then and only then will I start again because otherwise it is pointless really.
If anyone has any easy work lunch ideas that would be great because that is an area I struggle with.
Thanks again guys, you are helping me already xxx

Re: Oh my lord, I am the size of a WHALE!
I totally know how you feel. I go through that "omg I am so huge phase but I also add the I need to be living in a bell tower as well to it screaming asylum, lol.
I personally let people get to me way more than I should, and then I get to thinking along the same lines as what they have said.
This past weekend, I could have killed my mother in law, but having cheated and messed myself up again because of her I have learned something...
1. She must not be all that happy about herself if she has to pick on me to make her feel good.
2. I am not as horrible as she makes me out to be.
3. I am not as horrible as I imagine myself to be (that should be numero uno, but hey.
It is a hard thing to realize because like everyone else has said we are our own worst critic/enemy. I know I expect so much more out of myself than anyone else does sometimes.
Also, like PinkLady says, lol if you are a whale, well, that doesn't say much for me
I have started over, this is my second time around on this WOE and am almost to my first minigoal, cheating and all (not that I reccomend that because it makes you feel that much worse)
Today my MIL wanted to take me out to eat, so I went and ate what I should. She took me back home, before I got out she was like, there is something different about you.... why do you look so happy...
I just told her that I wasn't going to let her get to me anymore, if she wanted to stay unhappy fine, but don't expect me to stay in her little club.
I told her that she is like sandpaper, she can try to scratch me up, but when she is done... I will be smooth and polished and she will be all worn out, rough and tired.
I think you are beautiful.
Ok, enough blabbering lol.
