    Hello ,
    I did tha atkins months back and lost weight and kept it off Now I am on different meds and wanting to start it again is it ok to take Buspar while doing this atkins ???? I did really good and only have 15-20 lbs to get off just took 50 off so Now I aam stuck hoping to go back on atkins and get the rest off .... iam very frustrated and need help knowing if buspar is ok to take I cant come off it I have bad anxiety and panic attacks

    In Chapter 25 or 24, Dr. Atkins addresses certain medications and what they can do to weight loss.

    The best thing for you to do is talk to your doctor about it. Tell him or her that you are on a weight loss program and you want to know if the particular medication you are taking is known to interfere with weight loss.

        Congrats on the great job you have done so far.

        Buspar is a needed for you med period no if and or buts so don't worry about if you would lose faster not on it. The question you need to ask yourself is did you gain weight just cause you took buspar with no other changes in your life? if you did then it hinders your weight loss but you can over come that hinderence with harder work.

        Forget about your previous time doing atkins and the speed of your previous loss. you aren't the same person now.

        Do 14 days clean induction and on day 15 weigh and measure. use the charts in your DANDR to see if your metabolic resistance changed. if it did then the medication has effected your metabolism but you can still do Atkins and lose weight.

        remember cause you are smaller now then last time you started you will not lose the same amount of weight as weight loss is relative to the amount you need to lose. 1/2 a pound lost for somebody needing to lose 10 pounds is the same as 10 pounds for somebody needing to lose 200 pounds.

        work your 14 day induction hard do the mandatory exercise both the aerobic and the resistnace kind, drink your water. eat your veggies, keep track of every bite and count all the carbs,tsake the vits and supplements you need and you will be a loser again
