Re: question
That's probably the best choice if you must have soda. (note the underlining - lol). None of it counts towards your water intake though, so make sure you still get all your water in. Also, you are limited to 3 servings of sweetener a day, so make sure you stay within the limits. Another also, if it is sweetened with aspartame then it could cause a stall. Re: question
Personally, I wouldn't advise it. Some diet sodas can taste very sweet which will make it hard to break your sweet cravings and may lead to cheating. I would suggest just sticking to water during the induction phase. I know it's hard as I was a diet coke fanatic but once you start drinking all that water you'll actually start to crave water instead of soda.
If you do have to drink diet soda, I would suggest using it as a reward. If you drink all your required water (8 8 oz glasses but an additional 8 oz for every 25lbs you want to loose) then reward yourself with your diet soda. What will hopefully happen is that you'll be so full of water, you won't have room for the diet soda.

Re: question
If it is made with Aspartame / Nutrasweet, then no.
Honestly, kick the soda habit. I did on Induction and its amazing what a difference it has made. I only drink water and decaff tea now (after a 10-15 can a day Diet Coke habit).
Also remember that the artificial sweeteners in soda count toward your 3 a day limit.Start date: 2/22/04 347/222/135 ~ 5'2"

Re: question
I can say from personal experience last time i did atkins that they can be very sabotoging to your diet. One of the main points of atkins it to break the sugar cravings. even the slightest amount of sugar can trigger those cravings. I noticed that the days i had a mock danish, i ws craving sweets very shortly after. Its a vicious cycle id like not to get caught up in again. I have tried a mock danish this time around though and luckily it took care of the craving but i used only half the splenda i used before. NO cravings!
The most amazing part about this WOL is i have NO CRAVINGS ANYMORE! This from a compulsive overeater!! lol
the second most amazing thing of course is the rapid weight loss.Mindy
