  • New Encouragement

Good Evening. I've been off and back on Atkins since this past July. I began, and on day 14 started my first day of vacation. When I came back I realized I had fallen really hard during my vacation...since then, I've been "attempting" to get back on the wagon, but kept failing.

Today. Oh, dear. I saw the first of the vacation photo's. I had my daughter a year ago, and you would swear I'm still pregnant. At 5'4 and 146 pounds (I started in July at, about, 15 I look awful. So, I am down still, but should be much farther on my journey to the new/old me.

After my son was born, he is now 13, it took several years and a low carb way of life (wasn't necessarily Atkins) to slim back down to 120. I'm most comfortable at 115...but, a toned 120 wasn't bad.

I'm feeling so blue and could use:

    1) A good "kick in the butt" to keep me on track
    2) Encouragement from all of you that seem to have such success

I just can't believe the way I looked in those photo's. That is not how I wanted to look in my baby's one year birthday pictures. I'm celebrating my 15th wedding anniversary in a month...I would love to be down 10 pounds or so by then to fit in a nice dress for our evening out.

    Any help would be appreciated.

      Re: New Encouragement

Hello & Welcome! Its hard to see actual pictures and realize you don't like what you see. The good news is that we are all here for you. We've all been in the same boat and are working together to change our lifestyles and improve ourselves. The best way to develop a new way of life is to create a plan for yourself to include exercise. If you have your goals and your routine written out, its much easier to work towards them.

You'll get lots of motivation from the ADBB, (before/after photos, stories and forums on life/health issues) and join some of the challenges to keep on track. Don't look back at the weight you've gained, instead gear up to get back on the wagon and how wonderful you'll feel and look. You aren't alone. Best wishes
