    Hi kiwifraise
Welcome back to our ADBB family.

Maybe you are getting that pesky 'induction flu? Most people find it goes after the first week, so if you can make that you will be over the worst.

What are you planning for the exercise part of your Atkins?
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

all you need is to start and convince yourself that THIS is what you REALLY want. you want the weightloss, you have to put down the effort.. this has helped me a lot when I had the carb-cravings my first couple of days.... I hope it works for you too and you did it the first time.. just think about how good it made you feel

Re: Ok So I Neeeed Help!!!

Congratulations on such a big weightloss your first time around - that's wonderful. My first time on Atkins I didn't even finish induction before I gave up.

I found, for myself, that this second time I'm succeeding because of my mindset. I want this badly right now. I've had it with the weight holding me back from living my life to it's fullest.

Think back to your first weightloss and how wonderful you felt after you'd achieved it. Maybe that feeling will help push you through this hard time. Take a pic of you now and put it with a pic of you at 150 on the fridge, cupboards, walls, etc to give yourself a reminder of what your goal is and see if that gives you the nudge you need.

You can do it, you did it once before and you had much more to loose. This time it should be a piece of mock danish to you. Geez, I'm so Atkinized I can't even bring myself to say "Piece of cake" anymore LOL.

I can't say whether or not you will be saggy or not. But I can ask you this...will you be happier staying at the weight you are and the shape you are or would you be happier in a slim pair of jeans and a push up bra?? Just wondering....

Surely that would be less so than if you continue to gain...

How long ago did you do Atkins before? There may be something you can do to minimize the sick feeling you are getting that is causing you trouble. How far along into induction does it happen? My guess is day 2-3. That's the hardest part for me, anyway. Kepping full of anything BUT carbs and limiting the protein while getting LOTS of fluids helped me get thru by day 4 with flying colors. Also, taking supplements and potassium & magnesium makes a tremendous difference in how your body handles the sudden change in metabolism.

Re: Ok So I Neeeed Help!!!

You know it works. And you know there is an adjustment period as your body makes the transition to ketosis. So go with what you know.

Sagging skin is a problem for the future. Stay in the now. Aren't there
plenty of things to worry about now? heh, heh - just kidding.

I'm also doing induction again, and it isn't as hard as I remembered it to be.
                  Feel great.

Re: Ok So I Neeeed Help!!!

I wouldn't worry about saggyness just yet. Everyone's body reacts differently to weightloss and there are a lot of variables such as how much weight you loose, how long you've been overweight (and by how much) and your age. Genetic makeup can also influence all these factors.

If you're only 21 then, most likely, your skin still has a lot of elasticitiy.

You can improve your chances of not having a lot of sagging skin by drinking a lot of water, exercising and loosing weight at a slow, steady pace which gives your skin more of a chance to keep up with your new shape.

yes - like prfctlildvl said. The slower the fat comes off, the easier it will be for your skin to keep up. Exercise will also make a big difference in how loose your skin is. If you are lacking muscle now, and suddenly all the fat was gone from under the skin of course it would hang on the bone. Fill it up with new muscle mass while you loose the fat, and the muscle will add shape to fill the area. While the skin may not be tight right away, you should appreciate the soft and supple feeling of it with hard muscle underneath, and over a year or 2 it should shrink to fit, at your age. Brushing and massage reportedly can help stimulate the skin to tighten, too.

In my case, I know as a Mom I'll have the pouch and stretch marks 4ever unless surgically removed, but I'll wait 2 years after reaching and staying at goal b4 I consider any surgery.
