If it looks like a brownie and tastes like a brownie, girl you have a brownie.
Now saying that, remember induction is the time to fight off those cravings for sweets. I understand with the added stress of PMS its not easy, but don't give in as you have a great start going there.
BTW, psyllium is what we recommend for constipation. You did good

the psyllium husk is good, making brownies though is not a good idea on induction if you want to start losing weight. i know it's hard to supress your sweet tooth but once you go a few days to a week without the stuff you don't miss it one bit. not saying it isn't low carb friendly though, maybe it would be fine in a later stage of atkins diet. stage one is focusing about the simple natural foods like grilled chicken breast and vegetables. i mean burgers(no bun) have very little carbs but those are also induction safe. i don't remember eating any types of sweet on induction so i can't be any help on that topic. if i felt hungry or had a craving i just had something low carb friendly to tide me over.

the whole point of induction is getting over those cravings ^_^ don't give in... once you are out of induction you could start to see what is good for you depending on what phase you reach.. but induction is preferebly sugar free, low-car.. depend on natural sources ^_^ I'm day 4 and totaly over the cravings *yaaay*

i thank all of you for your info it really helps, but the first time i did atkins i messed up so bad with the sweets!!!! i mean. this is the reason i am looking for a intro sweet solution...see some people have the willpower of steel... me and hubby dont!!!! thats why i was trying to make something that would keep us from choking each other out or running to the nearest gas station for sweets.. we eat like were supposed to on intro.. drink no sodas.. just water..so when i made my mock brownies and handed hubby 2 and i ate 2 we were so satisfied .we laughed and joked around all night...he said baby those were good..drunk his water and went to bed...Thank you Lord

The first 2 weeks of induction are the hardest. If you get through 14 days without sweet stuff your whole Atkins programme will be so much easier. Its so important to rid yourself of cravings for sweet stuff, and it only takes 14 days.

You know what? Now that you've had them. Remember. Move on. And if you are wanting something like that again, tell yourself - I only have X more days of induction before I can introduce that again. (by that time you probably won't want it) There are all kinds of little bitty sweet recipes on the forum for those 'few' moments (after induction) when that might be nice. You'll be amazed at how rare that is. (example, I made a cheesecake (Atkins friendly) because we had company - the remainder of it has sat in the fridge til it went bad - I can promise you that NEVER would have happened pre-Atkins)

Enjoy this way of eating - it is FANTASTIC!

I know it's hard giving up the comfort foods but you'll find comfort in those skinny jeans once you've reached your goal.

I was a chocoholic. I could eat chocolate dipped in chocolate . Especially during PMS, I would kill for something chocolate but I haven't given in, not even once, during Atkins. I even tried making the mock brownie recipe and I threw it out after one bite as it didn't taste good to me.

This morning I'm making blueberry muffins for my kids for breakfast because we cleaned out all the pop tarts and donuts from the cupboards and threw them in the garbage. Pre-Atkins, I would have licked the spoon and bowl clean but this morning when I looked at the batter left in the bowl and on the spoon I felt sick and rinsed them both in the sink.

I know it's hard but try not to give in again, it's only going to prolong your cravings during indcution and will make it harder for you to succeed.

                    You can do it!!!!

a fiber brownie LOL that is cutr. Naja has a whole section in the loiw carb cooking school on using psyllium ( which is legal only if you got constipated in induction) as flour if you'd like to look.

TOM craviongs are the pits and cocoa powder has many pharmocological agents in it that can help just watch the sweetner you add since the egg cocoa powder and psyllium are legal.

Re: please read ...help me.... BROWNIES

Just my opinion here...but if you go around looking to replace all the junk you ate before with 'legal' sweets...that you are setting yourself up to not lose as well as you could. Even though some stuff is legal it doesn't mean it is good for you to have everyday. If you are really craving it then that is your body detoxing from the sugar monster and saying feed me feed me. If you feed him..even will legal stuff....it keeps him alive. Kill him by doing a clean induction. Afterall..you are both worth a mere 14 days of dedication.

In the big scheme of things...having that every now and then after induction is okay I would think, as a treat...not as a daily item.

BTW...isn't cocoa technically a nut and not allowed until the nut rung?

                          cocoa powder is a spice
Dr Atkins had a great quote and it went like this desserts and sweets should be occasional treats not every day events!

If I can do it, you can do it!! I am a sugar and carb ADDICT! giving up cigarette and (an un named drug) were nothing compared ot trying to kick my sweets addiction. I am still an addict but its under control now. I dont have those cravings anymore.

I'd hate to see you sabatoge yourself by still eating sweets even if they are within your allowed carb range. like they have said before me, the whole point if to break the addiction.

If you keep eating the sweets, you wont ever get rid of the cravings for them and you are 5 times more likely to cheat.

I have NO WILL POWER!!! I know i will cheat if i get those uncontrolable cravings. So why set myself up for it. Cutting it out completely for that first little bit is theonly thing that helped.

And ya know what??? NOW I DONT CRAVE IT AT ALL!!! and the few little times I do its not a bad craving, i can just say...ehhh no thanks, and snack on some cheese.

After my first week i did try the mock danish which has a tad of splenda in it. It didnt trigger the horrible cravings i thought it would like it did last time i was on atkins. Probably because i broke some of the cravings first. I still watch mysugar and only allow 1 serving of spenda a day unlike most ppl who can manage 3 i know my limits and will not sabatoge myself. I know i can do this and you can too There is so much support here! Whats amazing is how sweet other things start tasting once you get all that sugar out of your system. I never noticed how sweet onions were until I cut out my sugar. I can taste the natural sweetness in normal foods again.

If you can get through just a few days to a week it gets sooo much easier. I know that the few times that im craving sweet i get a really fat filled snack. I have noticed that rich fats can stop a sugar craving.

You can do it! We all owe it to ourselves! The inches melting away is enough for me to keep going. I have never had self control when it comes to food and this diet has given that to me. That is worth more than anything!
