You know, sometimes it seems that there are just plain ole, not fun, really, really annoying obstacles in the way of me losing weight. Please know up front that my reason for posting this is not sympathy. This is just one of those deals that happens. I'm just giving you back ground info so you'll know what happened and hopefully someone can tell me what to do
I lost a filling a while back and the tooth broke when the filling came out. The tooth, (or what's left of it) hadnt been giving me any problem at all. But, I decided I was pushing my luck and went to the dentist Wednesday. I knew it would require a root canal, but there wasn't much choice-- I have had 2 root canals before so it wasn't like I was unprepared.
The procedure went smothly, in fact, I think it was the easiest to get through root canal I've ever had. But, by Wed. night I was beginning to think something was wrong, and by Thurs. I was sure of it!
My dentists' office is closed on Thurs. and Fri. Imagine my horror when I couldn't sleep Thurs. night and my cheekbone, (it's an upper pre molar tooth) was so painful that I couldn't couldn't sit, couldn't lay... on and on. I raided the old supply of Hydracodone that I keep around for emergencies, (I figured this qualified!) and suddenly came to the understanding that even as sensetive as I usually am to that drug it wasn't even touching what was going on!
So, I called the doctor at 7 AM at his home this morning. He prescribed antibiotics and more hydracodone and made a tentative appt. to see me tomorrow morning. That should be fun, as I am in no condition to drive at all, (as of this afternoon he had me go to one hydracodone every two hours). My left eye is completely shut, the swelling is so bad it has literally twisted my nose and my mouth.
I have gotten creative when it comes to drinking water. I met my mini goal of being under 200 lbs this morning!!!! YAY! (At least that helped cheer me up!) and I managed to drink 5 liters of water yesterday. Today however because of the gross swelling I can't drink out of a cup so I have resorted to literally squirting water into my mouth out of a sports water bottle. It dribbles out, but most of it stays in. But, as of right now I've only managed to drink 2 liters.
I literally can't get my mouth to open, which all by iteself is hysterical since I love to talk. So, I have managed to consume two poached eggs all day long, one this morning and one this evening. Definently this is going to throw me out of the ketosis that I've worked so darned hard to get into!
My Question is: Do I start induction all over again date wise? I was halfway through doing a good, clean induction when this happened. Should I just pick up where I left off when I can get my mouth open and chew again? Is there some reason I should wait or anything special that anyone recommed that I do?
Regardless, I am committed and seeing that 198 on the scale absolutely shot my commitment through the roof! So, I'm going to jump this hurdle and go on down the road! I just need a bit of advice as to how to go down that road!
