  • 2 questions!!

    Ok first I was wondering how much water I should be drinking. How much is too much? I am drinking about 3 liters a day. I saw a show on TV about water intoxication and that set the paranoia rolling...lol.

    Secondly, I was wondering about Diet Dr. Pepper and Diet Cherry Pepsi. I checked the label out out and neither have carbs. But I just wanted to make sure they were OK. I only drink 1 can a day. Do you think that will mess me up????

    Even on can a day is likely to mess you up. They are sweetened by a sweetener called Aspartame, which is a very common staller amongst people on this woe.

    You should, strictly speaking, just stick with plain old water. 3 litres a day is not too much at all.

    I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

      As far as the water intoxication goes, you'd have to drink an outrageous amount in a very short period of time I believe. Like maybe if you chugged a gallon or so in under 5 mins. I know there was a death like that because of a college fraternity initiation or game or something dont remember.

        Oh and about the sodas. Its not the carbs you should worry about with those, its the sweeteners. Not only can they stall your loss, and trigger more sweet cravings, but they prevent you from breaking the sugar cravings which is one of the main points of the diet. Some people though really dont have a problem with it and can drink them. You will just have to see what works for you. I have found that since cutting off sugar (of any kind) that things like that are way too sweet for me now. I drink only water. I might would have the occasional unsweet tea with a half packet splenda if I go out. I also found that the taste of my water can affect how much I drink.

        I used to like tap water but since we have been getting the 5 gallon bottles home delivered for our water cooler, I have gotten used to that wter and now tap tastes horrible! So when we ran out and I had to drink tap, I didnt drink half as much. Thank goodness we got more in, haha! The more you drink just plain old water, the more you will love the taste of it. I actually CRAVE it now!

          Thanks guys! I haven't really had any craving as far as sweets goes. And that is AMAZING because I am definitley a sweet lover! But I guess I better be on the safe side and cut out the sodas. I don't want anything to make me stall

          I think that was the same story I had heard about the water. I was getting kid of paranoid because I have a habit of guzzling my water. I am always thirsty!!! I hope that's a good sign
