  • I'm also through induction but going camping!

Well I made over 16 days induction and feel good. I've shed 7cm from my bust and waist, and 5 from my upper arms and thighs and neck!

    Got to keep going now!

Am into the jeans I have not worn for over a year! YAY!

Its full on spring here and I am working towards a camping trip to Streaky Bay SA in about 10 days, so if anybody has experience in Atkins style camping food I'd enjoy hearing your tips????

I plan to do lots of egg/omelette and tinned fish meals and we always chuck meat on the barbie in th evening. Lunch might be the hardest I think, esp if we are hiking or beach walking......

CAmping is the best time for grilling all those meats and veggies. We make veggie kabobs to go wtih our steaks or chops. As far as snacks go, some hard boiled eggs, or deviled eggs (could pre-make them). some pepperoni, cheese cubes, string cheese, etc.

Hey Ozzie, Im going camping this weeknd as well! (Im on Berries and hitting legumes kinda).

I have gone on induction and it wasnt difficult. Jerky. hardboiled eggs. lettuce wraps with grilled meats. tuna in packets. pickles (without sugars). veggies like cauliflower/broccoli that you can take along in baggies. Black or green olives provide some nice fats while hiking as well.

        HAVE FUN!

Depends on your phase of Atkins...if you are going to stay on Induction, you're limited to those foods. If you will move to OWL, then you can add an additional 5 net carbs of OWL food.

            Thanx for those tips

            Hi there,

thanks for the tips. I liked the grilled veg and that's easy to do I hope and the olives. Re beef jerky, that's really hard to come by here and the only products I've spotted have sugar added in the marinade so no good.

            Can you make your own?

Yes - it is easiest if you have a food dehydrator but you can make it in the oven. There are lots of recipes for marinades out there.
Here is one site with instructions - substitute the non-Atkins ingredients for similar 'legal' ones.

Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
