    Hi there,
I am starting the induction phase, do you have to eat the whole 20 carbs or can you eat under that amount? In Australia we can not get nitrtate free bacon so should I continue to eat it?
    Many thanks,

    Re: 20 carbs

If you can have 20--eat the 20! Those 20 carbs will add variety to your diet for those 2 weeks. The 20 is from 3 cups of vegetables, cheeses, as well as those "extra" allowed foods, like olives, sour cream, etc. And you'd be surprised where carbs might be hiding--read labels, read labels, read labels!

you do not have to eat the full 20 it is like the speed limit something not to exceed. you must eat at least 1/2 of your total carbs for the day as your 3 cups of veggies so if your vweggies only total 8 then you can't have more then 16 for the whole day.

Don't worry about the bacon it was not a weight loss issue that placed the statement in the book.
