Went to Golden Corral today after church. I thought I was gonna have probs with that dessert buffet. I mean come on! They have fresh baked blueberry pies, doucle choc cake, and too many other goodies I wont list because I dont wanna get you guys to thinking about them too hard, haha.

I was suprised how many great induction friendly things they had though!

Luckily by the time I got back from the buffet my hubby had all those wonderfully fluffy rolls with the honey butter gone. He apologized, but I said thanks. haha!

I ate some AWESOME steak, grilled peppers, romain salad w/ mushrooms, cheese, etc., steamed cauliflower and broccoli. I wanted to try this sausage they had grilled but wasnt sure about it. Anyone know about that? It was thick like smoked sausage but my hubby said it was really spicy (hot). Are sausages like that carb filled?

I must admit I passed that dessert buffet several times to go back to my table and it was a tad challenging. Though notice I said a "tad challenging" and not incredibly hard. I must say what got me through it was remembering how horribly I used to feel after wed hit a dessert buffet. I would get that horrible sugar headache and brain fog. Ugh, that was all it took.I did so great and still have a luscious meal.

      Good job!!

The sausage was probably Hot Italian Sausage (one of my faves). In general it should be ok, but it'd be better to buy it yourself and check the ingredients etc. The really processed kinds can contain lots of no-nos. If you can get a good natural one, then you should be good to go. Grill it up or sautee it with peppers and onions...Mmmmm!!

Congratulations on staying on plan despite those desserts calling your name
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

whenever my family wants to go out to eat, I've found GC is the most atkins friendly (my opinion anyways) and while everyone is eating dessert, I get a soup cup full of the steak strips from the salad bar and dip them in sour cream...it's very rich and decadent without the carbs of say...cake....and the one near us on sundays has these incredible filet mignon like bacon wrapped little steaks.....YUM YUM YUM....JEEZ making myself hungry....
