any exercise that will get you moving and burning calories will help you lose weight.
there are no magic foods just lots of hewalthy fats, proteins and low glycemic veggies to pick from to make your meals and snacks.
Learning to only eat enough food to satisfy your hunger when you eat is the best way the fastest way to be an Atkins loser. Learn your hunger and feed only it.
I agree with 2big and Desert. There are no magic foods. People react differently to different foods, including legal foods. I can't eat any food that combines tomato and eggplant. 2Big can't eat celery. We had a former mod/administrator who discovered on her OWL that eating 1 slice of low carb bread would bring her weight loss to a screeching halt. And there are people who have no problem with tomatoes, eggplant, celery, low carb bread.
The best thing you can do is eat a variety of foods. Watch your body: if your loss slows or stops with a certain food, drop it from your diet. Also eat minimally processed food as much as you can. The more real your food the better, imo.
As for exercise, try out a variety of exercise and see what you like the best and what you are capable of doing. We have alot of runners on ADBB. I'm not one of them because I have weak ankles from multiple ankle injuries I got as a teen. We have folks who do pilates. I can't do pilates due to a back injury I got in a car accident. We have swimmers....I can't swim because I don't know how. So do the exercises you can physicially do.
Exercise is definitely the key to losing for me - over the last two weeks I've increased my excercise to burning 500 calories in the gym about 4-5 times a week, and I lost 2 lbs last week, and 2.5lbs this week!! Previously I'd only been losing 0.5-1 lb a week!
I tend to just stick on the cross-trainer and do an hour, but only on a low level, so its enjoyable and managable - plus I have my 80's music blasting in my ears!
good luck
