  • Anyone starting this weekend? Plan for day 1

Hi everyone, i am sher, and i am starting induction today. I have done atkins in the past and know how good i feel when things get rolling. My biggest obstacles are exercise and and PMS emotional rollercoaster.

Luckily i have 2.5 weeks before the latter starts again so i am taking advantage of it and getting myself encases in this way of eating and major plan set in place.

So what's the plan for today: Well i started by drinking a 16 oz bottle of water. I am going to list what i am planning so far if anyone sees anything wrong please give me a heads up. I don't know the amounts of each yet, i am just making my plan.

For breakfast i am going to have 2 eggs scrambled with water and gonna throw some tomatoes in it and a HINT of parm cheese.

My snack is going to be a chicken breast

i have decided i am going to make my lunch my big meal of the days: Chicken breast wrap of huge lettuce leafs, shredded chicken cooked with sugfree bacon (1 piece chopped up), shredded lettuce, 2 black olives chopped, shredded celery, alfalfa sprouts and a teaspoon of ranch dressing mixed with teaspoon of oliveoil. 1/2 cup of zucchini and summer squash sauted with a lil butter and garlic.

    Snack: celery with pepperoni/creamcheese mix

Dinner: rest of veggies in a salad and chicken with cheese, eggs, and olive oil mixed with ranch dressing.

NO eating after 7. 128 oz of water. 50 crunches, 2 miles of exercise and 30 minutes of exercise. Take my supple of Asparagus, calcium, multi, Chromium, L-Cartine, L-Glut, Green tea, Essentials, Apple cide vinegar.

Okay plans been made, i will be cleaning my house today too, figured why not fall clean to get everything peachy for this new start.
May you all be losers, Sher

Hi Kathy, it went good, i also got most of my house fall cleaned lol and my 30 minutes of exercise. i do love that wrap, you can actually make any sandwich you can think of that way, my tip would be put the meat in the middle of of all the veggies, that way it has more cushion to hold it in.

I think i am going to make a bacon cheeseburger quiche for lunch with cup of zucchini and squash in garlic and olive oil again.

For breakfast prolly the scramble eggs with parm cheese, tomatoes, and ham i think.

I think i am also going to make a non-meatball meatball mix which is basically making meatballs without making the balls. That way i can take the meat and fill celery with it for a snack.

Dinner will prolly be the rest of my veggies in a salad with chicken. i need to play around with this and deal with portion control for carbs and cheese counts.

I am planning on cooking a lot today to get ready for the week so this might change lol if something smells realllly good lol. i got a lot of my ideas from just doing a search on the web for atkins induction recipes.

How did your induction 2 weeks go? Did you do well? Let us know!!! i am sure you did great!

Good idea, I think that I will have to do a search on the web for some more recipes. Truth by told, I am not a very good cook. I can do well if I have an exact recipe, but on my own it doesn't go well.

I still have a week of induction to go but it's going great! I really didn't get the induction "flu" - there was only one day when I felt kind of crappy. Now I've had lots more energy and no real cravings. I have noticed on the weekends when I am off work that I eat a bit more. I don't eat any illegal foods & I still stay in my carb limits so I don't feel so bad about it. I also drink more water and get more exercise on the weekends too.

Re: Anyone starting this weekend? Plan for day 1

i can't cook either lol and am all about easy with very very few dishes. Low carb friends websites has some great and many many recipes with recommendations in them.

i just made this interesting dish for breakfast, fast and easy lol from jeprooster website:

          Egg in Bacon Basket

1 slice bacon, 1 egg, Parmesan cheese

Prepare muffin tins with cooking spray.
Line tin sides with one slice of bacon to make circle.
Drop one large egg in middle.
Sprinkle with freshly grated Parmesan cheese.
Bake at 450 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes.
i made six of them and i needed a little more than 10 minutes but i think its cause i forgot to take the 2nd muffin tin of the disposable kind off lol i put them back in the over for another 4 minutes after cooking them for 9. These lil egg muffins came out of it. It is easy, and tastes really good, all induction friendly (make sure you use sug free bacon), and induction friendly. These could be great for a snack to heat up at work.

Great work on your induction. I have a friend who doubles her workout time every weekend. Yes weekends are a little more difficult than during the week for me too, at work i have this schedule so to speak and on weekends i have a fridge full of food looking at me through my open bookshelfs as i sit in my loving room. i tend to eat a little more on weekends also. But weekends are also good to get everything ready for the coming week too.

It looks as if both of you are off to a flying start!!

Congratulations on planning ahead and looking for interesting ways to preparing your meals

Have you ventured down the main index to the recipe and cooking forums yet? Lots of ideas there as well as the possibility of asking what to do with ingredients you have on hand and ways of adapting pre-Atkins favourites.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Your McMuffin sounds delicious. Seems to me we use to have a microwavable McMuffin recipe on line at one time.
Your both doing great. Keep posting so I can keep stealing your menu ideas. LOL

Hey, it looks like I started the intro. a few days after you. I'm one who like to stay on it as long as I can. I like the foods you have choosen. I see your getting alot of the good veggies. I usually don't eat breakfast unless i get up very early and for lunch and dinner and make stir fries. So easy and delicious, you can throw, zucchini, eggplant, little onion, little garlic, little cabbage, butter, itailan seasonings with any meat but I preferr chicken breast. when it's all done I put a little cheese in the sauce, YUMMY!

Re: Anyone starting this weekend? Plan for day 1

Okay so here is day 3, i am doing well i think. Trying to get my water in, i already took a rest day!!!! can you believe it. I am such a lazy bum. I did go out and buy some new beta's though lol. Does shoppping count as exercise.

Today my plan is as follows, i am going to start logging everything in fitday so i don't carb creep without realizing it.

                      Mock cinnamon danish
                      2 eggs
                      3.5 oz cream cheese
                      1 table spoon butter
                      3 packets splenda
                      1/2 teas of cinnamon

Lunch Chicken wrap with lettuce, chicken, bacon bits, 1/3 cup zucchini and 2 black olives sliced up, parm cheese with 2 tablespoons of ranch dressing mixed up with some water to go farther.

Dinner: i need to get some ground beef cooked up so probably a beef with italian spices, and veggie mix up with a lil cheese. Salad with 1 tablespoon ranch dressing and olive oil.

Snack: 1/2 chicken breast in the am, 1/2 in the pm

Hope everyone is doing well. Remember i have a "challenge of sort going on in the regular challenge forum for those who want to give and receive motivation and tips.

Just click on the pink in my sig that says click here to see what my challenge is to you, and then post the one tip that got you through the day and one quote that kept you striving on. I am doing this for the two weeks of induction and then will compile it into a word doc for future motivation. We all have little quirks that get us through, its fun to share them just like recipes -- people may want to steel them to help them get through.
