not losing?!?!?!?!

  • not losing?!?!?!?!

    What am I doing wrong, I have been on induction for 2 weeks and only lost 2 lbs. this is what an average day looks like....

    2 hard boiled eggs w/1 tbsp of mayo
    1 flax seed muffin *
    1 cup of decaf coffee w/ 1 tsp of splenda and cream

    1 or 2 sting cheese

    1 cup of lettuce
    1/2 a tomato
    1 tbsp of oil
    vinager
    chicken brest

    1 cream cheese block (the little ones KIRI)
    3 or 4 slices of cucumber

    1 stake
    1 cup of salad (same as above)


    * flax seed mufin
    1 egg
    1 tbsp of butter
    3 tbsp of flax seed
    1 tsp of baking powder
    1 tsp of cinamon
    START DATE: OCT 17,2006 @ 222 LBS
    GOEL WEIGHT: FEB, 2007 @ 180 LBS






    This is my wedding dress and I must look like her by Feb 2007

    hi jess, are you exercising? If you are that could effect the scale, have you taken your measurements? i lost 5 lbs only but lost 11 inches all round. I don't see anything wrong with your menu. Maybe add some different veggies maybe. Are you drinking all your water 1/2 your body weight or 8 oz over 64 for every 25 lbs? Plain water. Are your meats marinated in anything that could have sugar in it?


    i know it could be frustrating, but take a deep breath and you will see the numbers going down!!

      I do exercise but not as often as I want to, I go to the gym 2 -3 times a week. I dring about 2-4 ltrs of water a day. I only add salt to my meat, that is all.

        i am sorry darlin, i really don't know then, other than if you keep your determination up and you will see results when they are ready to show you. Maybe play around with your menu and change it up give your body a mixup maybe.Maybe you aren't eating enough fat. What do your percentages look like?

          Oh I am having alot of fat. I guess I just have to be patient, even try exercising more. I have to keep on it

            Hey Jes,
            I'm Jess...Keep on it! KEEP on it...don't watch your numbers, just relax and let the program do it's thing...Let your body get use to it, and allow it to loose the weight. You have alot more time than you are thinking...it will come off and you will feel great, have energy and limited cravings...Stay clean, stay close and post, so you can hang on...Give this some time, it's healthy, its energizing and desperate steps to loose the weight could cause "weight whiplash" meaning if you leave this healthy balanced approach to get what you want you could go to some fad diets that work in the moment, then whiplash you back up above and beyond where you started!!!!
            When you remove the carbs and get into ketosis you actually put yourself in a fat burning metabolism and you don't crave as much and your appetitie gets surpressed and you have alot of energy, so basically you get alot more out of Atkins than weightloss and the side effects of energy reduced cravings and appetite are great things to have to cope with.

              yep more exercise daily is mandatory part of Atkins plan.

              use your tape measure and whatch the inches of fat being burned off as you work your Atkins,
              by the book atkinseer

                Not everyone gets a large initial loss, but stick to it and you should see results.
                One of our former admins lost absolutely nothing on induction but after she moved on to OWL and followed the instructions in DANDR she began slowly to progress and reached goal in time.

                  I saw your post about flax seeds and so I'm happy you posted the restof your menu here.

                  I second what 2Big replied in your flax seed post....Are you eating the muffin because you need to satisfy your hunger or are you eating it because you want something that resembles a baked product?

                  Also 3 tablespoons of flax meal is quite alot for Induction. Chapter 8 or 9 of DANDR 2002 gives the daily amount of the fiber supplements a 1 tablespoon limit. The exception is if you are having constipation, then you can have more of the fiber supplement until you find relief then you decrease the amount to maintain regularity. Is this what's happening with you?

                  I only ask because different foods affect people differently. This includes "legal" foods. If you think the flax meal is interfering with your weight loss, drop it from your menu for a few days and see what happens.
