The only way I will drink water is if it's FREEZING COLD, and I mean literally. Each night before I go to bed, I fill up my nalgene bottle with water and a lemon slice, then put it in the freezer. In the morning, I take it to work, and keep refilling it with chilled bottled water.
And guess what? Cold water burns calories --because your body burns the calories raising the temperature of the water to the temp. of your body. And YES I know I know we don't count calories, but hey, isn't that nice tidbit to know?
I do find that if I eat something salty or spicy, that will automatically get me reaching for the water, but I am VERY careful about salt/sodium, as it causes water retention.
I've also found that if I had a headache (like during induction), drinking water REALLY helped. In a past life I would have chugged the diet coke, but now I am a woman of the water.
