Re: Is ketchup or tomatos ok?
Ketchup is not allowed during induction, the amount of sugar used in it is unbelievable. Coffee is also not recommended in induction either as caffeine can cause blood sugar spikes.
Btw, I am not aware of Equal, I am assuming that this is a sweetner?

Re: Is ketchup or tomatos ok?
Sumz, you might want to look into a sugar-free ketchup or make your own with Splenda as the sweetener.
I would recommend seriously limiting the Equal. Go for Splenda or stevia. The aspartame in most commercial sweeteners can cause a stall.
Good luck,

By the way, whole tomatoes are allowed. Just remember to count the carbs in them!F/45(!?)/5'11"

Re: Is ketchup or tomatos ok?
I add a few drops of hot sauce on my eggs, of chop up some tomatoes and onions and cook them in some butter, then add the eggs and scramble. There are some low carb salas and also some fresh salas that is induction friendly. Don't forget cheese on eggs is also delicious

Re: Is ketchup or tomatos ok?
Definitely a nice fresh salsa. If you have to, there are some bottled ones that can be ok, but make sure you read labels closely. Almost all packaged food has some no-nos. It's still a better option than the ketchup though.
Try the splenda. Equal's aspartame can have negative effects for many people.Higgies

Re: Is ketchup or tomatos ok?
Ketchup was way important to me having success in this WOE. I bought Heinz 1-carb and the stuff tastes JUST like the real thing. I still try to use as little as possible, but it's a good, unmistakeable tang on a cheaper beef cut.
