  • Low Carb Bars...disaster?

I started this phase two days ago. I did not realize I could not eat low carb sugar free bars. They are not the atkins ones. They are thinkthin! ones and EAS carb control both which have no sugar. And I am still losing weight though!! So fast i can't believe it. Also should I not eat those bars even if I am staying within 20g and losing weight? I read that eating "meat like" products is ok. I eat fish and poultry but no red meat and I usually sub. with lightlife (super low carb) ground meat free hamburger meat. Is this ok? I stopped eating it though two days ago because I wasn't sure. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you.

I have tried the Think Thin bars and they are safe. I believe they have like 2-3 net impact carbs.

It's been the collective experience of ADBB that the low carb shakes/bars/etc. have slowed or prevented weight loss. So we do not recommend them. If you do choose to use them, then be aware that your mileage might vary. Also be aware that the majority of our carbohydrates are to be from the allowed vegetables. So if you are averaging 10 net carbs daily and only 2 of those carbs are from vegetables, you will need to re-examine your menues and the Induction Acceptable foods List.

We are allowed a variety of animal proteins on Atkins. So whatever protein on the list is acceptable. Be sure to eat an appropriate amount of fat. As you know, Atkins is a high fat diet, not a high protein diet.

That is so good to know about the bars! I will reduce them to one a day at the most. But I am losing weight! And I am eating so much more fat then I ever have! I have noticed by adding fat and lowering my carbs after being on a lower calorie low fat diet for a year ..my hair looks healthier and my skin does too! Myabe I need fats...anyway, thank you for the help! I am loving this!
