  • Day 3 with questions....

Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Julie and I'm new here. I started Atkins Induction officially on Tuesday. (I'd done a somewhat low carb diet since Sunday). I have not lost any weight yet and I'm okay with that. I'm switching straight over from a low calorie diet. I've been using Calorie King's website and I am continuing to use it for Atkins, because it too, tracks carbohydrates and sugar among others. I'm currently at 185 and my goal weight is 165.

My question is this. I made ground turkey in a skillet today for lunch. Normally, I love the smell of it as well as the taste. Today, the smell of it was unpleasant. There was nothing wrong with it though. (spoil-wise) I've also noticed today that the celery I ate tasted different. Is this normal?? Things seem to be smelling and tasting differently today.

Thanks for reading this and have a nice day...

      Julie,
sorry no one has responded to you yet.

I didn't notice any changes in my smell until after I quit smoking really.

However, once you are into ketosis, the appetite suppression kicks in and smells and tastes might not be as "good" as they were because of the appetite suppression.

      Hope that helps.

        Julie

The opposite happened to me. Foods that I did not much like (broccoli, spinach, etc.) started tasting much better.
