  • I'm STuck!

well today is the 17th day of Doing the induction, The question is whether I should stay or go? I really dont know? I'm also wondering why I am stuck at only have lost 13 pounds? does the weight loss normaly slow down after the first two weeks, Another thing I havnt start excersizing just yet. so what is the problem? Do I stay or do I continue with an extended Induction?

Yes the weight loss rate slows down; the amount you lost during induction reflects not only the fat you burned during that time, but also the switch into ketosis has a diuretic effect, so some is water loss, plus your body does some initial cleaning out, ie. bowels, toxins, etc.

You should also expect, whether or not you continue induction, that if you weigh frequently you will notice regular ups and downs on the scale; though over time there will be a downward trend in the numbers. Periodically, the weight may go up for reasons such as TOM, medications, too much salt or unusually heavy exercise, so pay less attention to the scales, and look at your measurements shrinking instead. There are frequent no-weigh challenges for people who look so much at the scales it gets discouraging.

Absolutely, there is a lull after induction for many of us, but just stick it out and you'll start losing again in no time. By the way, 13 pounds in 17 days is to die for. I am lucky to lose a pound a month

Thank You So Much BECKY SUE!!! that (PISS) Post Induction Stall Syndrome info is GREAT!!! i myself started Induction October 21st... went 14 days and then entered into OWL because i just knew i would get bored... and when i did, i also really slowed down/practically stopped doing anything... no movement on my scale or anything i WAS going to go back into Induction, but was talked out of it by some Good Friends on ADBB... now i am just taking it VERY SLOWLY... moving up 1 rung at a time "monthly" instead of weekly... and just in a few days it has helped me!!! i couldnt be happier!!! i didnt know what to expect after being on Induction and losing 6lbs & then just by adding a FEW more veggies & then movin up to the Dairy Rung... it all Stopped! i was like OMG!!! but now i have taken it back down to Rung 1 - More Veggies only and im gonna stay here for a month before i slowly move up to Rung 2... I JUST LOVE ALL THE WONDERFUL INFORMATION ON WHAT WOULD I DO WITHOUT YOU GUYS??? No Turning Back For Ms Lili...!!! Im Low Carb For Life...!!!

            13lbs in 17 days !! Woohoo!!!

You should be really pleased with that, the key here is to keep going and YES excercise - it's a non-negotiable part of this WOL and believe me, once you get going it feels gooood!
