  • Egg Substitute?

    Hi guys,

I am just starting out today and have a dilemma. I am allergic to eggs, meaning NO mayo, no omlettes, etc etc. A lot of ideas I've read for meals (especially breakfast) are egg based. I was wondering if you guys can think of any alternatives?

    Thanks

    Re: Egg Substitute?

For breakfast this morning, I had a hamburger patty and sliced tomatoes. It's not exactly conventional, but it did the trick.

Hello and welcome to ADBB. Here in this country we are just used to eating eggs for breakfast. I prefer chicken, roast beef and pork chops. I eat what I like when I like it. Who says you have to eat eggs for breakfast. I make leftovers.

Think out of the box. Last nights leftovers make a great breakfast.

As long as your eating some protein and fat, who cares if it's eggs or "breakfast type food" or not? I agree with the others...a lot of times I skip eggs and have last nights leftovers--yum!

you've gotten some very good advice: breakfast doesn't have to be egg-based. Many times I eat leftovers for breakfast: chicken or turkey nuggets (made from cubed cooked chicken or turkey) eaten with cheese, leftover meat and veg casseroles, creamy veggie soups with bits of shredded meat and cheese, etc.

                Hello Spellcat,

One more leftover item ... if I have any salad leftover from dinner, I eat it first thing in the morning. I always toss my salad with dressing, so I eat it in the morning before it has a chance to get soggy!
