starting again, here's what i had for breakfast...what do you think?

  • starting again, here's what i had for breakfast...what do you think?

    hi, i'm restarting again today...11.24.06

    i had the following for breakfast
    1 slice colby jack cheese
    4 strips of low sodium bacon
    1 tbsp olive oil (maybe too much)
    2 jumbo eggss
    2 tbsp heavy cream
    a big cup of decaf tea.
    NO SPLENDA!

    do you think it's too much olive oil, i scramble the eggs in it.

      only you know the answer to your question. did you only eat enough food to satisfy your hunger and stop? that is the only criteria for determining if it was too much or too little food.

      if you can't tell then practice Dr Atkins method of eating just half what you fixed and stopping. put the food up if you are not hungry and if you are eat a little more. On Atkins we can eat whenever we get hungry so don't worry about haveing to fill up for making it all the way to lunch.

        A good way to do what 2big said is to use smaller plates...I eat off of saucers that are about 6 or 7' across. It fools the eye into thinking you have more food than you really do.

        I even tricked my boyfriend--we were making taco salads. I put mine on the saucer, he put his on an oversized dinner plate. I put a cup of lettuce, some cheese, and about 1/3 cup of ground beef on my plate--it looked monstrously huge, because it took up the whole plate. HE puts about 3 cups of salad, a handful of cheese, taco sauce, and about 1.5 cup of ground beef on his plate...then looks at my plate and says--geez, why did you take so much meat? I thought we were going to split this evenly...he honestly got ticked off because he thought I took twice as much meat...when I showed him the plates side by side he said, "wow, I'm an idiot."

          just BLEW it big time. had some christmas cookies. i don't know what happened, all of a sudden i had this urge for sugar. sugar is a horrible thing if you have no control over it. so i blew it for today so will stay focus. i just pushed myself back a day. now i'm starting over on 11.25.06, my 14 days will be on on 12.08.06. i feel like a screw up.

            oops I mean 6 or 7 inches across...but somehow I typed the symbol for "feet"...no plates are NOT 6 feet across...

            Don't feel like a screw up--you were honest with yourself, you didn't turn one mistake into a month long binge! You got back on the wagon, which is what counts...it's not the next week or the next day that you get back on atkins, it's the next bite.

            Is there anything that could have triggered this? Eating more fat helps keep you satisfied and controls cravings. Make sure you're eating good meals--if you're hungry, eat something! As long as it's not carbs...

            FOOJOY you can do it--drink your water, get back on plan, go exercise!

                2big is right - just because you ate off-plan doesnt mean eating off-plan for the rest of the day!!
                Just eat induction-legal the next meal or snack you have!

                  Thanks again everyone. I did start at the next meal. I'm have baked chicken wings, aspasgus(sp) with mushrooms.
