  • Starting - looking for a buddy....

Well .... I posted awhile ago, saying how motivated I am & that I'm starting Atkins again. Needless to say that I am still sitting at my starting weight and NOT due to following Atkins , but rather a lack of starting Atkins.

I did Atkins before for about 12 days and had excellent results - don't ask why I stopped, because I also don't know . I have however decided after a lot of soul searching that I have to give Atkins another go - so I officially started again this morning. Is there any female out there starting Atkins & weighing about 248 who would like to start a buddy system with me - the more the better. I know I can do this and I KNOW atkins works - I just don't want to do it alone.

Great idea to look for a buddy. That can make all the difference sometimes. I hope that this time is the winner for you!

im not in your weight range but i just wanted to tell you not to give up. I was on atkins and droped to almost my goal weight then gained it all back plus some. I tried many times to start over and it was only this last time that i have started feeling like it is, once again, a way of life and not a diet. I'm doing this because i love myself. The worst thing you can do is tell yourself that you will "start tomorrow" once you decide to do it START. Then if you mess up at one meal then get back on the wagon at the next meal. NEVER EVER say you will try again tomorrow.

      good luck

Hey there! I am looking for a buddy also, since I seem to fail on every diet I start without one. I am new to this diet so I think that would help that you are already experienced and could possibly give me some pointers I currently weigh 225 and Im 5'2. My goal is to be 120.

Hiya guys...I just wanted to say, don't be a stranger! Read the posts, visit some journals, join exercise challenges! It's a great way to keep yourself accountable, and man, this place is totally addictive. I know for a fact that a Triathalon exercise challenge is starting December 1st...you get to choose your 3 "events" and must rack up a certain amount of miles before moving to the next machine and counting THAT mileage...there should be a thread called Triathalon, or check out Alyssa's Psychotic Ramblings--it's a journal...Lyssie is organizing this whole thing...

Anyway, feel free to ask questions and post some answers!

What Juli said! You guys should come check out the journals, we're all like a buddy system over there with whatever we weigh or what part of the journey we're in. Yanno? And you should definitely join the triathalon - there's a thread for the sign-up in the exercise challenges forum that gives a bit more information on what is involved and the choices. But definitely come over to journal chats and join us.
