  • Retrying, i believe....

    it will work this time as i am no longer living with relatives and only have myself to cook for. I am able to keep temptations out of my house. I had some carb stuff in the house due to thanksgiving so i kind of had a carb blow out yesterday and what i didnt eat by time to go to bed went into the garbage. I got a huge wake up call from falling off the wagon for a huge time (2 months) i am back up to 294 restarting at that weight . but all the other times i didnt do it strictly by the book, i kept drinking caffiene stuff, didnt keep a close eye on the amount of sugar substitute that i had, had 1 cheat day a week which eventually turned into cheat week and then cheat month ect...., but i am doing it strictly by the book this time.

    on thanksgiving my cousin and aunt were trying to convice me that atkins is unhealthy well i already know thats not true as does my parents so i have no problem from them. i tried to tell them that those reports are wrong or by people who dont really know atkins. my aunt was quoting people she worked with that does atkins but they dont do it correctly they only eat protein no veggies. i told her that you are required to eat 3 cups of veggies a day...more than i usually eat(before atkins i ate 1/2 a cup to nothing of veggies a day and if i did have veggies it was a white potato or hominey high carb veggies kind of thing. finally i had to lie to get them to get off my back. told them i was going to do atkins till i was 40lbs to goal weight and then switch to southbeach. they bought it and left it alone, thinking that they had won. i am ok with telling them a white lie if it makes them feel better.

    ok so today is day 1 wish me luck, thanks in advance for all of your support

        You are totally right, it really amazes me how people who don't know exactly what they are talking about will put their two cents in!!!! oh well, good luck- but you won't need it b/c its not about luck- its more important than that---its about your health and I am sure you will improve it!

          thank you. i know that when i do stick to it after a few days i am not tempted in the least (as long as i dont have to sit around people eating them). I am just ready to get back to that point as before where i would actually not be hungry and have to remind myself to eat....i love that point of the WOE.

            there are a lot of people i just dont share or talk about the way i eat with. Your little white lie wont hurt.

            good luck on day one. Just look forward to day four when this will become easy.
