  • Ready to begin the rest of my life!

    Hello All!

I'm so glad to be here, but at the same time a little scared. I've done this before, and have been really successful in the past, but dieting is something that I'm not good at. In the past I have been able to get on board and stick to it like I had been doing it my whole life for months at a time, and then something happens or triggers me to forget all that I had accomplished. Additionally, it seems like everyone I know has something awful to say about this diet.

Anyway, I'm back, and I'm doing this diet in "secret." I know it works a lot better when you have support, but I gotta work with what I have, and right now all I have is myself (and the members of this forum)

I can't wait to learn more about you all, and here is to a successful next two weeks!

Wishing you the best! I haven't announced what I am doing this time either. I have done that in the past and get really worried that I will fall off the plan like I do all the time. Only my dh knows, my mil, and my mom. Much less preasure this way.

You've obviously got the right formula somewhere within because you have had SUCCESS before. You are already on the path to more success by starting again. I think you are going to do just fine with such a good background - just don't stop believing in yourself!

You have such a great attitude, Kerith! You already are versed on what to do in order to succeed on this program, and it is obvious you have the gumption required to take the reigns and just get it done. Make it for good this time!

You are doing a great thing by "boiling ahead," too - and I cannot tell you how much foods prepped ahead of time come in handy for me when I'm in a huge rush to sprint out of the house.

Keep us all informed on your progress, hon!

To start out with, I'd like to leave you with the words of wisdom, this is NOT a diet.. this is a lifestyle change, so you need to prepare yourself mentally for it. If you have enough self determination to succeed and change your life and health around.. well by golly you're gonna do it! Keep focused and you will be amazed. Glad you're here!!

Re: Ready to begin the rest of my life!

It's pretty normal to be scared, I was scared when I started too. Scared that I would fail yet again, scared that it wouldn't work, scared that it would, and scared that I would tell people that I was on Atkins only to fall off and have them all know once again that I couldn't stick with it.

It's okay to be scared, as long as you don't let being scared stop you from reaching for your goals!!

As far as not telling your friends/family...don't feel bad, most of mine still don't know. I didn't tell them what I ate when I wasn't on a diet, and I don't feel that I need to tell them now. My husband knows and a few other people who I knew would be completely supportive of me. I would highly recommend not telling anyone who you don't think would be completely supportive of you. Get your support here...if I feel down or like doing something I shouldn't I always stop in here to get support from people who have already done this successfully.

Most of all, keep at it and you WILL BE successful again!!
