    I dread, really dread drinking all the water I'm supposed to, so I usually wait until until late at night to drink it usually over the span of a couple of hours. Do you think this does any harm, could it slow my weight loss?

    I would think it is better for your body to space your water across the whole day rather than gulp it down in a couple of hours.

    Your minumum of 64 fluid ounces plus 8 more ounces for the 20 pounds you want to lose amounts to 9 glasses during the day, which is less than one glass an hour. So once you get into the habit I am sure you will find it more easy.

    I keep a sports-top bottle filled and take a mouthful frequently - when on the computer I have a swig each time I am waiting for the page to refresh, so get through it almost without realising it.

    If I have large amounts late in the day it does make me get up more frequently in the night but maybe that is more a sign of age!?! LOL

      Well, I've been told by my DD"s doc (DD has 1 kidney) your body needs to be able to have time to use the water to filter and cleanse out your internal organs. Drink and be happy.

        Hi MendoGirl - We had a real problem getting the water down in the beginning here in my house - so here is what we did:
        1 glass before breakfast, 1 glass after breakfast
        1 glass before lunch, 1 glass after lunch
        1 glass before dinner, 1 glass after dinner
        1 glass with vitamins

        Then keep a full glass on your table that has to be finished before lunch and before dinner. Just gag it down.... In a few weeks I PROMISE! You will be CRAVING water and won't be able to stop yourself from drinking it. Not letting ourselves eat our meals or walk away from the table after eating before finishing our water glasses made the difference in how we feel, how our skin looks, and how fast our body was flushing fat out of us. (since August, we've logged about 110 pounds gone in our house so it WORKS!)

        Force yourself for a few weeks - it is a simple, easy trick to lose lose lose....!!!!

          I would spread out the water because otherwise you will be waking up a lot to go to the toilet! A few years ago I didn't drink much water and mostly lived on diet cola and coffee. Now my body craves it. I woke up an hour and a half ago and I have already finished off a 2 liter bottle.

                WOW!!!!!! sweetGirl2, that post that you linked to was amazing!!!!! I will definitely do make sure I drink my water I had absolutely NO IDEA!!!!! I am really excited to see how much better I could do when I made sure I drink every bit of the water I should, or more.

                Kacey1 good advice I will give that a try.

                Thanks to all who responded I will definitely not have to be told again that link sold me on the positive benefits of drinking water.

                  What amazes me is the stuff people will DRINK or EAT because it's touted to be a "weight loss miracle"

                  Some examples are the all liquid diets, and the flax oil/vinegar mixes etc.

                  But, the one thing that will get your body to lose weight better than anything else you could do for it...is DRINK WATER....and most people will fight it TOOTH AND NAIL.

                  The miracle to weight loss, folks...WATER.
