  • Day two

Well today is day two for me. Yesterday i was almost overcome with cravings! I made it through! I wanted macaroni and cheese....pudding....and grapes! It was so hard for me..but wow does it feel good now looking back and seeing that i didnt let the food win! Today I had a low carb shake for breakfast and a string cheese. I have to say...those shakes are filling! I only grabbed one today cause my alarm didnt go off! Yikes! Yesterday i had a delicious omelet with a couple pieces of canadian bacon. Chicken for dinner, my fav! I'm worried about lunch today because i cant just go home and whip up something healthy...I'm gonna have to find something atkins-friendly at the local health food store. Wish me luck!

    Re: Day two

Kelly, welcome to ADBB and congratulations on getting through your first day. Be careful with those shakes, In my Opinion, they are a crutch and not a very good one because they only fuel your cravings for sugar. Prolong it unnecessarily.

As for lunch, here are some ideas from the REGULAR grocery store:
    rotisserie chicken
    celery sticks
chicken wings (make sure they are not breaded--but the regular hotwing sauce is ok--no bbq or terryaki sauces tho)
    jicama sticks
    cobb salad
    chicken cesar salad
hamburger patty with cheese, lettuce, tomato(no bun)

welcome! I agree on the shakes! You could make a mock danish, or a few other muffin like recipes out of eggs. I saw them in the recipe section last night. Let me see if I can find you something..Ill post the link. These an be made ahead and just warmed.

        Mock Danish
        Muffin

Hope these might help give you a few ideas!

Most of them are, make sure to check the label. You want one with 2 g of carbs..preferably less per serving.

My husband says i'm going to sprout feathers and start clucking soon LOL I love chicken too. What you want to avoid are the pre-packaged preservative junked processed meats...although in a pinch I will eat luncheon meats, hotdogs, etc. But if I can get my hands on a rotisserie chicken...thats what I do. I'm lucky that the grocery store by my work has chicken wings too. Yummy. I go to the deli, grab some sort of meat and then swing by the produce section and get celery or jicama or salad or broccoli or something like that.

            Re: Day two

You may even want to pre-make something to take with you in advance. For example... meat and cheese roll-ups, hard boiled eggs, or cucumber slices. These may help you get over the "hump" in those spots where you are in need of grabbing something quick !

Wow i've gotta try to recipes! I've only had that one shake so far...if i didnt i'd be eating anything i can find at work by now! i work by myself until 1 everyday so i need to bring things...i cant leave! I brought some string cheese to hold me over. Even though it's only been a day and a half...i feel so accomplished! I didnt think i'd have the mindset to dicipline myself like this. oh get this...!! a lovely customer of mine came in this morning and brought me a bag of ghiardelli mint chocolates and a box of truffles!! omg! i put them out of site and plan on making my employee eat them all!
