Are pickles allowed on induction? I have found when I get a sweet tooth they tend to hold me over! Thanks!

Re: Pickles?
i think the sweet pickles like bread and butter chips can be high in carbs.
ok, i just checked my fridge and the ones we have (mt. olive brand) are 6g carbs (5 of which is from sugars) for a serving of 6 chips. be careful with those. how about dills? they are less.

Re: Pickles?
Looks like pickles are NOT ok on induction, I don't see them on the induction friendly vegetables list in the book anyway.. How about cucumber slices with a bit of salt instead?Last edited by Grant; January 5, 2007, 08:26 PM.Grant

Re: Pickles?
Pickles should be fine...Not sweet ones though!! Dill pickles are best, but watch the sodium content.~Joy

Re: Pickles?
Hi, I am new to this forum and have been following the Atkins diet for a week now. I have a jar of dill pickles that says 0 carbs on the label and I have been eating them for the past few days. Can I trust the label or have I screwed things up?

Re: Pickles?
well, pickles DO have carbs. 1 serving of those pickles has < 1 gram of carb which is why they can say 0 carbs. However they ARE in there. I'd count them as 1 gram per serving just to be safe.
BUT, do enjoy them. You are allowed 3 cups of vegetables per day. Pickles are made out of cucumbers which is one of the veggies on the "salad" list.~Joy
