  • What Do We Think About SF Jello

    on induction?

    yay or nay?

i realize that it can be a double-edged sword in that it can be a great substitute for sugar-sweet, but it may also not help curb one's overall craving for sweets. thoughts?

If you have it within your 3 allowed sweetners per day...AND it doesn't affect you (give you blood sugar instability causing cravings and such) then it should be alright. Just be very careful with it. IF you can go without it, you're better off though.

To ValidRouge's point, the NutraSweet (aspartame) has caused weight loss stalls and cravings.

Don't think it will "hurt" you or even throw you out of ketosis, but does have the potential to frustrate the h*ll out of you when you see no scale movement.

jolly rancher brand??? wow. if i could find that...

well, i'm holding out for now.

we are having a dinner party over the weekend, and since i will be making a real cake for the guests, i will perhaps go ahead and make some SF Jello that i can put whip cream on. i know me, and having some reasonable substitute will keep me from either cheating or acting like a caged animal.

I used Knox gelatin combined with DietRite soda only up until I hit maintenance a few months ago. The commercially prepared stuff has a lot more sweetner in it, but of course it's more difficult to "make" your own stuff. One hint is to pre-wet the gelatin with a bit less than half of the cold soda amount before you pour the boiling soda in...mixes MUCH better that way.
