  • Day 4 - ej15, Where Are You?

    howdy par'dner-

how are you feeling on day 4? i am OK for the most part, just a weenie little tension headache, but that could be because i have a gazillion emails to catch up on at work.

i am planning to purchase some ketostix and test tonight, alhtough i'm sure i'm in ketosis now, as i have that funky metallic taste in my mouth and acetone breath.

am also going to try for 2-3 miles on the treadmill and/or stationary bike tonight.

    keep me posted!

I'm also on day four. I don't have the metallic taste in my mouth. Maybe I do, but I'm always chopping down on my sugar-free gum. (yes, I count the carbs) Now that you mentioned the metallic taste, I did just notice it! Maybe I didn't know what it was..

ej15 - If your are hungry, eat. As long as you don't go over your carbs. You should never go hungry or else your body will go into starvation mode. Storing fat! It doesn't matter how many times a day you eat aslong as you stick to under 20 carbs and stop eating when you are not hungry anymore. It gets easier i promise. Good Luck.

ej- good job on resisting the cereal! i personally, could eat cereal 3x per day if it were not metabolically hindering to me. i know, wierd! anyhoo, eating the nuts was a SUPERIOR alternative, and don't beat yourself up about it!! i've eaten a bit of cottage cheese on day 3 when i had nothing left in the fridge and knew i wasn't going to the market until the next day. you make the best of the sitch, and sounds like you did just that.

feeling better? the "flu" symptoms are gone, well at least the headache.

          keep on!

              good deal.

i had eggs for breakfast this morning, as well. with some bacon, of course. so far, so good.

about the ketostix.... they are sold behind the counter at the pharmacy, generally, but you don't need a prescription, just ask the pharmacist. Bayer makes them and they are sold in qty's of 50 and 100. easy to use, just pee on the edge and then match up the color to the chart on the side of the container.

when you see that you're in ketosis, you know that you're buring your own fat. very encouraging. for me, at least.

              talk later!

If you are craving bread why not make some revolution rolls as described in this thread along with some other basic induction recipes
                http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...ead.php?t=6807

You can also make wraps using just whipped egg whites as posted by Joy before Christmas

Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
