DO YOU VETERANS/PRO'S... THINK I SHOULD START INDUCTION ALL OVER NOW THAT I HAVE BEEN TAKING THESE MEDS FOR THE LAST 3 DAYS??? I HAVE BEEN TAKING THE DAYQUIL 2 TIMES EACH DAY, AND THE NYQUIL ONLY BEFORE BEDTIME... BUT FOR 3 DAYS NOW!!! OMG!!! I HAD NO IDEA THEY WERE 30 CARBS EACH!!! I FEEL SOOOOOOOOOOOO GUILTY!!!

        Don't worry too much...

Keep on with induction to get you back in ketosis and then continue where you left off. Had you started OWL? In the future, make sure whatever you put in your body is ok before taking it. There are not many cold remedies out there that don't have sugar in them, so watch out.

Anyone know of a sugar-free cold syrup? I don't off hand. I have always taken Tylenol Severe Cold & Flu, but I'm sure it's just as bad.

I normally just take a certain pill when I have a cold(to keep my nose clear) or nose drops(saline). Otherwise when I am sick I drink tea with lemon(good for the throat). Don't beat yourself up too much. If you weren't doing Atkins you likely would have had many more carbs then what was in the syrups.

Hi ~ If you were taking the geltabs you will be fine. It is the liquid/syrup version of Nyquil and the like that are sugar laden. Don't fret and I hope you feel better!

I just stick with pill forms of mediciations, and avoid the liquids. You can ask at the pharmacy regarding sugar free cough syrups...I have in the past had Robitussin which has a s/f but not sure if it's Canadian or if you can get it in the states?

see if you can find syrups and pills made for diabetics which should not have sugar in them.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Okay, so the geltab medicines are okay? I use Dayquil in geltabs. I can't use syrup. Yuck! Am I okay? Is that tidbit of info. in the Atkins book? I don't remember reading that!
                    Thanks!
