    INDUCTION & PEPPERONI

    Hello ,

I was using pepperoni as a snack since the label said 0 carb and 0 sugar. I then noticed it said in the ingredients, Dextrose. Can I eat this stuff???

You can eat it, but stick to the serving size listed on the package and be sure to count the serving as either 1 or 0.5 net carbs. In the US the labeling laws are more or less non-existent for carbs, so a product with 0-0.49999 carbs can be legally labelled "0" carbs. A product with 0.5 to 0.99999 carbs can be labelled as "less than one" carbs.

It appears very picky to be concerned about 0.5 carbs, but unless you are very careful about measuring your foods, you might very well overeat your carbs. For example, if you estimate your salad dressing by just pouring on what you think is 2 tablespoons, you might really be eating 1/4 cup and its carbs.

Thanks for the help... It also made me think of the salad dressing I bought from Kraft, CarbWell Italian. It claims 0 carbs and 0 sugars. I guess I should be counting this as 1 carb per serving size huh? I must admit I wasn't measuring since I assumed CARBWELL and 0 carbs. OOOPS....
