If you were starting the Atkins Diet on Saturday, what would you buy at the grocery store Friday night to make sure you had a good variety of foods to make induction go well?

Re: Shopping list
Er, I would go over the induction list and write down the foods that I like to eat and buy those foods. I would go to http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/index.html and look for a few yummy recipes to make(like the deep dish pizza!) that are induction friendly.
Myself to get through the first days I would have stuff like ground beef, bacond, chicken filets, whole chickens, different kindfs of lettuces, onions, peppes, mushrooms, legal dressing(or ingredients to make my own), eggs, butter, olive oil, mayo(or ingredients to make my own); different cheeses, olives, heavy cream, smoked fish, etc. Also things like brocolli, tomatoes, cauliflower(can make great fake mashed potatoes), cabbages, etc. I could go on and on. Re: Shopping list
Eggs, heavy cream, Cream Cheese, mozzerella cheese, parmesean cheese, Cheddar Cheese, Pepper Jack cheese, pepperoni, celery, romaine lettuce, sausage, bacon, STEAKS, (Ribeyes! YUM) chicken breast or tenderloins, cucumber, cherry tomatoes (easier to count carbs), taco seasoning for taco salads, a good ranch dressing with one gram of sugar or less per serving and 2 carbs or per serving.
I always check out Lindas low carb for ideas, then I make my list.
Remember to shop on the outside of the store. That is where all of the good, fresh stuff is located.

Re: Shopping list
porkskins, bouillion cubes, stuff listed below, but for the fresh veggies, only what you'll use in 2-3 days. You don't wan't stuff to spoil. Seasonings if you don't have are a good idea, and salad veggies that are good in cooking as well as fresh salad, such as peppers, chives, mushrooms & celery.
Many veggies can be dried, frozen or canned. Staples like canned string beans, tomatoes & onions and garlic are essentials (for me anyway) to use with so many great recipes... I better shut up before I get started.~Susan

Re: Shopping list
I second Richt's suggestion. Look at the Induction Acceptable Foods list, see what you like to eat off that list and what foods you are willing to try, then go shopping.
By the way, when I began Atkins, I brought a copy of the Acceptable Foods list with me on grocery shopping trips. It provided me with a quick reference of what I could purchase. So it eliminated any guesswork and prevented me from buying things that were not allowed.
