    HELLO ALL, WELL I HAVE BEEN ON INCDUCTION FOR 9 DAYS, EVERYTHING COOL LOST 8 # ALREADY.. BUT SINCE I LOST MY BOOK THERES SO MANY THINGS I STILL NEED TO READ..ANYWAYS MY QUESTION IS....


    THIS MORNING AN EMPLOYEE CAME IN MY LOBBY AND BROUGHT ME A LATTE, OVIOUSLY WE CANT DRINK MILK BUT I EXCEPTED IT ANYWAYS BUT SHE DIDN'T LEAVE AND WAS WITH ME FOR ABOUT 30 MINS TELLING ME TO DRINK UP... I TOLD HER I WAS ON DIET, BUT SHE SAID IT WOULDN'T HURT, BUT I KNOW IT WILL..
    ANYWAYS IT WAS A SMALL COFFEE 12 OZ ..SO I DRANK HALF WITH IS 6OZ... DO I HAVE TO START ALL OVER FROM SCRATCH OR CAN I JUST GET UP AND KEEP GOING...
    I FELL SO GUILTY I WAS DOING SO GOOD..PLEASE HELP !

    I think 8 ounces of milk is 12 carbs, how much do you think you have gotten in that 6 oz. of coffee? I would say move on and don't worry too much about it. I think a breve is the term they use for half in half in coffee at starbucks, might want to look into that for the next time.

    Oh don't forget to take those carbs into your count for the day!

      No you dont have to start over again if you slip on induction - just put it down to experience and continue eating to plan!!

      Peer pressure is always hard to deal with, particularly when you are trying to make a change in your habits, so see if you can think of a good response to anyone offering you something you dont want to eat or drink.

      Sometimes saying 'I dont feel like that at present' or 'I've just had a cup' can be an easier shield against wellmeaning sabotage than explaining the rules you are eating by.

        The latte likely had additional heaps of sugar as well as milk in it. Your best bet to minimize the chance of what you drank reversing your ketosis back to carb metabolism (which could mean starting over with induction 'flu', cravings, etc) is to EXERCISE away the extra carbs ASAP. The amount of carbs leftover in your system needs to be burned up to keep you in ketosis. Induction gets you to ketosis by keeping a net carb limit of 20g, which almost everyone burns a minimum of per day. Most people's CCLL for losing is higher than that even at rest. But exercise raises the bar.
